My wife and I recently found the 5:2 diet and have now started. I’ve known of fasting and intermittent fasting for a while but it seemed to hard.
Since Monday we’ve been doing the following:
– Between Sunday 8:30pm and Friday 10am we fast from 8:30pm to 10am daily.
– On Tuesday and Wednesday, between 10am and 8:30pm we consume only 500/600 calories.
– From Friday 10am to Sunday 8:30pm there are no restrictions.
I’ve based this on studies and information I’ve read about the benefits of regular intermittent fasting and eating in a small window. The idea is to allow us to enjoy our usual family breakfasts and other entertaining on the weekends. Midweek it doesn’t effect us much to fast.
