  • Hi all. I’m Court. I’m 44 and have absolutely ruined my body with past food abuse. I’m looking to get healthy not skinny anymore. Yesterday I was diagnosed with very high cholesterol and prescribed meds. After a moment of self pity, I decided to begin this journey. It was highly recommended by my younger brother (type 2 diabetes). He has lost an incredible amount of weight and under dr. supervision been able to stop 2 meds. Who is just starting this journey and would like to share experiences?

    Hi Court and welcome:

Here is most of the information you will need to get the most out of 5:2: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

Focus on doing your diet days correctly for a couple of months and the rest will fall into place.

    Good Luck!

thank you for the info Simcoeluv

There are a couple of November Challenges starting on the forum….. good luck it’s a great way to loose

Hi Court, I am obese and I decided to start this on October 12th, I am 46 years old with trying other diets and nothing working, I read and reread the 5:2 Fast Diet and I put my numbers in the TDEE system here and it gave me 734 calories because of my weight and that being 1/4 of my calorie intake and I can tell you that this is one of the best things that I have done for my body, since the 12th I have lost 9 pounds but I got to tell you that I kick started it with a 25 hour fast with no water or food from 7pm on the 11th until 8pm on the 12th and then on the 14th I did the second day of fasting and now I have noticed instant weight-loss, I walk 30 minutes 3-4 days a week and 2 of those days are done on my fasting days.
May you be blessed with great results.

Hi Court, I’m up for a November challenge! My fasting days are Mondays and Thursdays, and I’d like to weigh in on a weekly basis through the month of November. I have a fair amount of weight to lose, but following the mantra of slow and steady wins the race. I am ready to start November 1st, or we could begin earlier if you like.

Cathy, are you interested in doing this November challenge?
