  • Hi everyone just about to start this programme. Huge amount to lose. What exactly is the October challenge. How does it differ from any other month. Tikvah

    Hi Tikvah,

    I hope you are still there and already figured out the October Challenge! If not, it is a special thread in which a group of people simply check in every day and report their progress with 5:2 or whatever form of intermittent fasting they are practicing. The October Challenge is being hosted by Fuuvie who reads all the posts and moderates the group to some degree. There have been past monthly challenges such as one that started in May and another in July which also went on further into August. Those were hosted by others. Each monthly challenge has a theme or something to consider as a focal point. For example the September Challenge encouraged members to consider non-fasting day food choices as a way of improving their results. The focal point of the October Challenge is ‘goals’ and each of us stated what we wanted our own individual goal that we hoped to achieve by the end of the month.

    I found the September Challenge very beneficial. It was great to check in every day with a short post and to read others’ posts. This helped keep me on track and I found being a part of the group very inspiring. What was also great was that the collective weight lost for all participants who continued to the end of the September Challenge was tallied and it was awesome to see how much weight we lost in total for the whole group over that month!

    By the way, I began 5:2 and practiced it for 2 months before joining one of the challenges and I did well over those 2 months. However, I feel being a part of the Challenge group to be even better!
