My First Day

  • Today is my first day here at the Fast Diet. I’ve been reading/hearing about the benefits of fasting for a while and this seems to be a good place to start. I used to be quite active but have severe arthritis in my hip and can hardly do anything these days. So I have gained at least 20lbs in the last year. I would like to lose 30.

    This week today (Tuesday) and Sunday are going to be my Fast days. Today I plan on having a blueberry/almond milk smoothie around 11 am. Then around 5:00 I will have a big salad of lots of lettuce and some imitation crab meat.

    I’m used to having a glass of wine every day……will be interesting to see how I do without it. I’m sure it will be good for my body to not drink every day.

    I’m interested to see how hungry I get during the day. It has been over 12 hours since I have eaten already.

    I’ve started today too!
    I’ve not eaten anything just yet, but planning some grilled chicken breast and salad in my head as we speak for about 6.30pm! I aim to lose about 36lbs. I hope I can do it on this plan!

    Hi everyone this is my first fast day too. I plan on fasting Tuesdays and Saturdays. Right now I am just experiencing pain in my stomach due to drinking coffee without any food to adsorb it. Perhaps caffeine will be my next venture. I just recently quit drinking alcohol not too long ago. I’m a little concerned about getting through the day with only 500 calories but I will persevere. It is great to have support on an online form. Looking forward to my salad at lunchtime. Just a litle concerned how this will affect my metabolism over the next while.

    Hi Salli — Thanks for your reply. It will be great to keep in touch since we’ve both started today and have a similar amount to lose.

    Already this morning I seem to go through periods of feeling hungry….and then that goes away and I don’t feel hungry. I’ll need to work on distracting myself at times I think.
