Hello! First day and first day of fasting…not keeled over yet!

  • 47 and have dieted for most of my life and lost lots and put lots back on. Now 47 and with at least 3 stone to lose. I eat healthily most of the time, but no diets seem to work for me. I ordered the fast diet book and the blood sugar book and read them back to back and loved everything in it!
    Hoping this is going to be the eating way of life I’ve been looking for!
    Today is my first day and my first fasting day, 4pm and I’m struggling a little but haven’t given in yet…..really looking forward to dinner!
    Next fast day is Thursday 🙂
    Never joined a forum or a group before for dieting but think I might need some support and a kick in the pants occasionally 🙂

    Hi Rebecca – well done for making the change in your life! Remember to drink plenty of water, and remind yourself that you’re not going to starve, you are actually fine, and tomorrow you can eat what you like 🙂

    Thanks for the reply! I know, funny isn’t it, we know we’re not going to starve but I’m feeling a bit lightheaded and have come one here for a bit of distraction 🙂
    I gave up alcohol last week as a starter and lost a whole inch from my waist and I started watching what I ate to get me in the swing for this coming eating plan.
    I had a lowcal breakfast from the plan and going to try and leave it as late as possible before I have a meal from the plan. Not long, not that I’m looking at the clock or anything 😉

    Distraction is a really good thing – get yourself busy with something and the time will go. Or listen to some music and distract your mind.

    Don’t try and be a hero – baby steps

    You’re going to really enjoy your food when you finally sit down to it 🙂

    Hi Rebecca, Today is my first day, and first fast, too, so we’re in the same place. I do have rather a lot to lose since gaining a load of weight with Thyroid Disease. Have also tried numerous ‘diets’ and lost about 10lbs before I plateaued and lost heart, too. Hopefully, this Fast Diet will sort me out. So far I’ve not found this Fast day too onerous. Had a couple of wobbly moments but drank water and sure enough, within a few minutes, the hunger faded. Like you I’m looking forward to dinner tonight as I’ve eaten nothing at all today. 🙃 Even the dog’s dinner is beginning to look attractive!

    OneSaffi, had to laugh at your dog’s dinner looking attractive, it was a bit like that here lol!
    I had Huevos Rancheros for dinner and boy it was worth the wait, really great recipe….but felt empty an hour later. I had to have a lowcal hot choc drink before bed as I just felt so cold, but that was my only blip all day.
    In between my fast days I’m going to use the recipes from the Blood Sugar Diet book as that it was really affects me badly. Tried to exercise this morning and felt too lightheaded, so yes baby steps…..
    Portobello mushrooms for breakfast with feta and pine nuts…..interesting, quite like it 🙂

    @luiz boy yes did I enjoy my food when I could eat it…..even one day of this has made me taste my food more and eat slower 🙂
