Starting Tomorrow

    I am starting 5:2 tomorrow and sincerely hoping for good results. Since stopping smoking 3 years ago I have gained 3 stone and have tried and failed at several different diets. Fast days will be Tuesday & Thursday here’s hoping I can get rid of the weight for good!

    Hi Daisy, I’m knew here also. I just started this week and 2 fasts down.

    I’m so happy to have stumbled on this new WOE. I’m a kiwi, however now live in the US and I really surprised this isn’t a big trend over here. I had never heard of it until I in total desperation was searching the web on different ways to lose weight … once again. Anyway, I’m 5.3 with about 25 pounds to lose. I have tried many diets over the past 20 years as I have pretty much never been happy with my weight, even though now I would give anything to be back to my pre baby weight. After two kids (youngest is now 3), I was never able to bounce back and in fast just keep putting it on.

    I feel like this should be called the ‘one day diet’, cause I only feel like I’m restricting myself for one day at a time – and I can totally do that. The next day is the day I get to eat whatever and even though I will stay under my TDEE, the thought that I can eat whatever makes me feel that I’m not being denied or subject to months of restriction – which is totally just too depressing and overwhelming to think about.

    Sorry I haven’t been online I had a few issues to deal with last week and dieting was the last thing on my mind! So back to square 1 today and first fast day tomorrow, how did you first week go?

    Hey there, Sorry you had a stuff to deal with. Even small stuff can through you for a loop. Anyway good to have you back.

    So I’m two weeks down (4 fasts), and I doing ok – fasting Tuesday and Thursday. Not this past weekend, but the weekend before, I had a big night out which kinda screwed me up, so this past weekend I limited myself to 2 glasses of wine on both Friday and Saturday nights. Over the weekend I wasn’t too strict on counting the TDEE, but during the week I have been sticking to 1200 calories on non-fasting days. I’m down about 4 pounds.
