  • Hi, I’m Sandra. I am 31 & live in northern ireland. I started the fast diet last wk. I weighed myself on the Wednesday morning and was 11 st, 7 lb. I fasted thursday and friday and found it easy enough to do, the hunger didnt bother me at all thankfully. I then went camping over the weekend and ate like a mad women lol I also enjoyed a few cocktails. I have to be flexible with my fast days due to the shifts I work so this week monday & Tuesday were my fast days. Come weigh in on this Wednesday morning I was hoping for a loss but not expecting much due to my weekend of over eating. When I looked down and the scales read 10 st, 4 lb I thought I was seeing things. 1st, 3lb off. I could not believe it so I measure myself. I had lost 3ins of my waist, 2ins of my hips & 1in of my thighs! I also tried on trousers that didnt fit a couple of wks ago & tho they were still a bit tight they fastened. I dont expect to get a loss like this again and since I dont feel I have a huge amount to lose I am happy to lose the rest at a slower pace but I am also delighted at the results of my first wk. Has anyone else experienced this kind of loss at the start of this? I love the fast diet! I know it is something I could stick too and I am finding that I look forward to my fast days as much as look forward to my feed days after! I feel so great after just a wk both physically and mentally! Definitely a new way of life for me!

Blimey that is amazing! Congratulations Sandra you have done fantastically well!

Keep us posted about your progress!

Good grief Sandra – that is beyond extraordinary! I lost an incredible 7 lbs (half stone/just over 3 kilos) in the 1st 7 days and since then it’s about a 1lb a week loss, but never thought someone only weighing 11.5 stones could lose that much in just a week. You are a lucky woman. Good luck with the rest. Anyone else lost that kind of amount in the first week? A 1 stone 3 lbs (17lbs/7.7kilos) might have set a new record!

Yeah I honestly dont know how I lost so much. I would b happy to lose a lb a week after that big drop. Be interesting to see what happens at my next weigh in πŸ™‚

success in continuing on in a healthy fdl! (fastdaylifestyle)

Hi Sandra. I am from Bangor Co Down. Started 3 weeks this Monday. Had lost 7lbs in first 2 weeks. Can’t wait to weigh in this Monday. I am doing every Wednesday Friday and sunday. Sitting here watching the rugby and starving. Going to go for a bath and early night. Seem to be struggling today. Also had a head ache all day. Well done on your lose. I only have a few more lbs to lose. Just wanted to lose about 10lbs before my all inclusive holiday next Sunday. Will be back on this at again when I get home. Lynne

Yeah I love this fdl. Find fasting very easy and feel great since I started it. It brings me a sense of normality that I never had with other diets as I cn eat the things I want to and still get results. On my feast days there is no routine as I want to be free to enjoy what I want and not worry about feeling restricted or bad if I go over my calories. I am still new to this so I am still feeling out what works for me. The days I fasted before my weigh in I ate around 200 cals each day. I felt satisfied with this but would have ate more if I had needed to. It was enough for me tho and to b honest I could probably have fasted completely except I took a headache on the first day and did not want a repeat of that. I have been getting my calories from homemade soup, oxo cubes and whole milk in one or two cups of coffee (tho I’ve now discovered I like it black so have done away with the milk on fast days). I purchased some zero high5’s&that along with the extra caffeine from my black coffee has made such a difference. Not even a hint of a headache. I am fasting today and so far havnt felt the need to eat. I am happy with how this is working for me. Eating very little on my fast days works best for me as I am the kind of person who keeps picking at food once I start eating, also I tend to eat alot on my feast day. I am hoping as I adjust to fdl I will natural strike more of a balance with both fast days and feast days but for now this is working for me so I will take it each day at a time and make changes when necessary πŸ™‚

Hi lynne, yes I know Bangor. Beautiful place. Take my dogs there sometimes. I live in county antrim. Well done. U r doing so well! Ur holiday will b well deserved πŸ™‚ I guess some days r tougher than others. I find headaches on a fast day the worst thing, the hunger is more than bearable. Bath and an early night sound like the perfect remedy πŸ™‚

I’m enjoying it but with this holiday coming I know I will go back to eating everything in sight. But plan to walk as lot on holiday and get back on this healthy eating plan on my return. I am now getting used to the fasting and I’m in a great routine. I think I could stick to this way of eating as I feel better after fasting and sluggish and bloated after an eating day

Sandra that is a fantastic weight loss. How can you survive on 200 cals. What do you eat to loose that amount weight. I am eating 500 on fast days and under 1000 on feast days but weight loss is slow. I did ask a question on here about my body going into starvation mode but obviously that did not happen for you.

Lynne-holidays r hard but a part of life that shud b enjoyed. U will get back on track when u return&maybe the break will give ur weight loss a boost, I have heard of this happening πŸ™‚

I find 200 a comfortable amount for me. I could more easily eat less than more. I think its about knowing what works best for u individually. I know if I eat more I will want more as its why I have struggled with my weight in the past. I think we are all different and what works for some doesn’t work for all. I dont believe I am at risk of going into starvation mode because I eat unrestricted on my feast days so it sort of balances out. I really don’t know how I lost the amount I did so quickly but I had gained between half a stone-a stone in the last few months so maybe because of the recent gain it was quick to come off again. I dont know. Pehaps I’ll gain some back next weigh in and it’ll b slower after that but I hope I have just found the best way for me and it will be a steady loss from here on out πŸ™‚

Hi usa, thats great. Sounds like u r doing well. Being flexible with this and trying things differently is a good idea esp if u plateau. It is one of the things that most appeals to me about dfl, that it is so flexible and cn b changed to suit as u change. I am 31 and about 5’4 so not very overweight but its been going up and down alot over the past couple of yrs so I am determined to get to my ideal weight and b able to maintain it. I think I have found the answer πŸ™‚

    hi sandra,

r’nt u glad u found this fdl earlier in life πŸ˜€
as u said “it is so flexible and can b changed to suit as u change”

i started as u said “going up and down allot over the past couple of yrs” “not very overweight” in my late 47’s & now i’m more sedentary & it sneaks up on u ugh ugh ugh ♀

Hi all, Sandra your weight loss appears to be truly amazing. However be realistic. All of the research states that we cannot lose more than a couple of pounds of fat in a week. So it would follow that the extra weight loss must be down to something else. The extra weight loss is not fat and fat is what we want to lose.
I wish you well on your journey but please be realistic and recognise that health benefits take time, such a weight loss in one week is highly unusual.
Good luck to you all out there.

Usa – I exercise daily. I walk my dogs at least 3 miles everyday and I also run at least once a week, sometimes up to 3 or 4 times so I am pretty active too. Have to be when you have two big dogs to tire out before you leave the house for work πŸ™‚

Couscous – Thanks for the comment. Yes I understand what you are saying. I am very realistic. I understand how the body works as I have studied fitness and nutrition. I do not know why I lost so much in my first week, perhaps it is to do with some of it being a recent gain. I do not expect to have anymore loses like this and would not want to. If I gain some of it back in the next week then lose gradually after that I will not be disappointed. Our bodies or amazing, complex things. I will just keep doing what I am doing as I love how I feel with dfl!

    sandra,

aaaaaaaw what r the breed/mix of the dogs & names?

tiring them out by walking that long daily w/ them is a very caring personβ™₯

they need it plus they won’t do all the things
u don’t want them 2 do during the day πŸ˜‰

again success in ur 0/5/2-200’s πŸ˜€

I have a yellow Labrador called Summer and a brown Springer/Labrador cross called Phoenix. Love them to bits, they are a handful but great dogs. Also they keep me very active between daily walks, occasional runs and agility at the weekend! Ha ha yes have to tire them out, Summer was a very bad pup, chewed lots of things in my house no matter how much I walked her first but she has stopped all that since I got Phoenix thankfully, good for her to have company and he is better behaved than her which is good because I moved house and would not want them to do any chewing in this one too lol Safe to say with all the exercise they get my dogs don’t need to go on any diet/life style changes πŸ™‚

    sandra

lol smart 2 get her a friend

i had a chocolate lab he had a name but i changed it 2 princely

he was always so dignified w/ soulful eyes waiting 4 me when i got back from work

never jumped waited 4 me to pet/hug/rumble him like royalty πŸ™‚

he was my knight. protected me especially if a voice was raised

he would stand in front & growl or bar the door

we loved 2 play in water. running through the sprinklers

jumping in whatever body of water. wet wet wet πŸ™‚

so u don’t treadmill them my friend she bought one 4 her dog &

1 4 herself. they love it especially in bad weather

    how r u?

    r u close 2 being in that elite status the 6/1? πŸ˜€

    happy fastdays & nonfastday♬♬♬♬♬♬
