  • I just had to post because I almost can’t believe it.
I was 80.3kg (177lb) on Monday morning. I fasted that day, and Wednesday. On Tuesday and Thursday I did everything normal – I had healthy food, but I also had chips, beers and burgers.

    It’s Friday morning and I’m 79.2kg (174.6lb). I’ve lost over a kilogram.

The best thing? I’m not afraid of being hungry, and I’m not afraid of eating. The amount of time, energy and emotion that I had locked up in thoughts about food and eating, good and bad behaviour, punishment and reward – it’s just slowly falling away. That feels better than weight loss. It really does.

    Woohoo! Great result! Congratulations!
I agree with what you say: it is a great way of life!

That’s awesome 🙂 I’m on day four (fasted yesterday although went a bit over my calorie allowance because my boss bought in damn cinemon swirls which are my weakness but I compensated at dinner and only went 40cal over) and I feel amazing. My stomach is def flatter and my jeans are more comfortable. I’m not even all that hungry haha.

On Tuesday (first day after fast) I admit I went a bit mad and made myself a double cheese burger and oven chips XD but I don’t have a craving for shit food today – for some reason I want egg mayo sandwiches?! Haha

I’m glad you’re having such great results, I feel the same as you – I’ve spent more than half my life obsessing over this diet and that diet and starving myself and now… I am not scared of eating or being hungry because I know each state is temporary. I went into this diet a massive skeptic but I love it now, and I think it can become a lifestyle (like vegan or keto) as opposed to just a short term thing.

Also, the fast days are really fun because I get to cook vegan food (I’ve found that’s how you get the most food for your calories) and I get to be creative in the kitchen 🙂

Wow, what a great start! I hope I have as successful a start as you 🙂

Thanks guys! It turns out most of that would have been water weight – because I put most of it back on in the next week!

I was really upset at first BUT I stuck with 5:2 and now, at the start of week four, I’m 3kg lighter. That’s nearly a kg lost every week, even with that gain in week 2.

I learned two really important lessons:

    1. My weight loss will probably not be as fast as I like, but it WILL happen
    2. Don’t take the numbers on your scales (high or low) too seriously

MissMurphtang – “I am not scared of eating or being hungry because I know each state is temporary” is such a great way of putting it! And a really great thing to remember.

Haha, I know what it’s like to be derailed by someone bringing treats into work! Oh and for the record I’ve only managed to come in under 500kcal once! Most of my fast days end at about 550.
