  • Hello all. I am starting the fast diet this week with my husband. However he ruptured his Achilles and had surgery to repair it. He will be unable to walk for a few months. Can he start fasting now? Should he adjust the intake? Thank you,

hello lailmarie, just saw your query and thought I’d answer to get you both started. Seeing your husband is now restricted due to operation, and his activity will be limited, NOW is the right time to limit his intake. Doing it with a mate will increase your motivation I’m sure you will both be amazed at how good you will feel. I am nearly at my 6 month anniversary of starting and I have lost 9 kilo’s so far!!! ( woohoo ) 500 for you and 600 for your husband is SO achievable and some days , yes I was a bit over the mark, and on other days well below. Just start….and soon you will be seeing your body transform, and you both will feel incredible! Good luck Melanie ( New Zealand)

When I broke my arm and had to have surgery, my doctor told me fasting wasn’t a problem. Go for it! Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. It was our second day! It was hard. We both went a bit over but feeling good about getting better at it! Thanks again.

Yah for you, yes it will seem hard at first but soon you will become experts at creating a plan that includes your favouites eg breakfast for me now regularily will be black coffee or a herb tea with a whole kiwifruit and a whole manderine.Lunch is 2 corn discs with 50 gms of cottage cheese and a wee topping of pesto and a miso soup. Late afternoon maybe a coffee, herb tea or a white coffee, and then dinner …yah….either steak with steamed veg or fish with steamed veg, all well under the 500!so yah for you that you have started, if you need a buddy let me know M .
