  • Hi. I’m a 40yr old Maths teacher weighing in at 104kg – would like to get down to 80kg and then I can think again.

    Today is my first fast day and it’s going OK so far… 🙂

    Today is my first fast day too. This week I’m fasting on Tuesday and Thursday. I seem to be doing ok so far.

    It’s the evening that I find challenging as I like to pick.

    I keep telling myself not long to go until I can eat tomorrow :-).

    It was my parents who put me on to this after it working wonders for them…visiting them from tomorrow so a bit of moral support for day 2 on either Thursday or Friday. My children are just finding it funny that they get to eat more than me!

    So I did it! My first fast day. It was particularly challenging in the evening but I drank water and herbal tea, which helped.

    I intend to eat healthily today and prepare myself for my 2nd fast day on Thursday.

    Getting through the first day has motivated me and I feel finding this site has helped. In the past I have had good intention but when it comes to the evening, I gave in.

    Thanks Goldensun! The first day was fine and yesterday was day #2 – am really surprised at how manageable it is. Hope Thursday went well for you. Roll on next week 🙂

    Hello, I just started 5:2 last week, my fast days are Mondays and Friday, the first fast day was easy, the second day which was yesterday was not so good, got a terrible headache by the end of the day, I am trying the eating half of my calories in the morning, fast all day and eat the rest 12 hrs later, I hope this week is better, any tips? Thank you.

    Hi Peruvian, I’m splitting my calories the same as you. I wonder whether you had enough to drink through the day – that might explain the headache??

    I had day 3 yesterday – the afternoon was tough…and then my wife cooked burgers for everyone but me! Anyway, got through and some normal food today 🙂

    Just some words of encouragement for you today was my second week and I lost 5 pounds!I only have 15 left to lose so quite surprised the amount I have lost was expecting to lose a pound per week,
    What I have found is that on non fast days I dont eat unhealthy have totally gone off chocolate etc and I used to love it so really weird but my cravings for rubbish has stopped!
    The only problem I have encountered so far is sleeping on fast nights,really cant seem to nod off for ages,apart from that im over the moon with my progress so far.

    Hello again, feel better today, I am on my feed days now and I found myself eating healthier too, awesome, I feel lighter already, I will weight next week, but feel good, Thank you William for your words of encouragement, and I think you are right, I didn’t drink enough the second fast day, I finished reading the book today and feel more optimistic about it, Friday is my next fast day, hoping it will go well.
