  • Hi @happynow and hi @at!

Thanks to you both for some absolutely great advice!! Really appreciate it.

@at – great to reconnect after all your hard work on the March challenge!

Yes, I think I will join the May challenge as it is so nice to read the posts when I am on a FD and as you say, it keeps us on the straight & narrow.

You will be thinking that it’s something you said, FiveTwo, that conversation has stopped on the thread! We do have pauses sometimes, as we get on with our non-cyber lives πŸ™‚

Those pesky two kgs have taken up permanent residency on me. I will obviously have to take evasive action to shift them, but not this week.

    Stay well, ladies. πŸ™‚

    Thanks @barata!

Strange! I posted back to you hours ago Barata and it’s not here!
We have been enjoying gorgeous autumn weather and celebrating 4 years of fasting (and 3 years of maintenance) today. We did it, of course, by fasting!!!
We are both continuing to maintain within our wriggle room and Mr P, from his daily blood sugar testing, is now sure his body is no longer insulin resistant.
    Happy days. P

Happy anniversary Purple! Mine too – 3 years on 5:2. Who would have thought when I started this is where I would end up!😊

Well done Carol. We are here for the long run, aren’t we? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰P

I guess the Maintenance crowd are all cruising nicely?
I squeezed an extra fast in last week and dropped a kg, then crept up .5 by enjoying some extra carbs 😊😊
Ah well…that’s life! Swings and roundabouts πŸ™„
    P

Cruising thanks! It’s been so quiet on here I thought I’d been dropped off the list – something I said…..😊

Well done on the extra fast Purple!

As you know I was in Newcastle week before last with no scales and first time EVER I didn’t do a fast – just too hard with all that was going on. So, great trepidation when I hopped on the scales Monday morning, 0.5 above wriggle room, but 0.5 below trigger. A pleasant surprise and just reassures me what constitutes a ‘pig out’ these days is so different from what it used to be!

Interesting fact I’ve recently discovered I wanted to share although it’s possible some of you are already aware of this – sugar and cramps…..

I’ve never ever suffered with cramps in my entire life until the past year, where I occasionally get leg cramps at night. Last time they happened I thought there was possibly a pattern to it. When they happened again the other night I was sure there was a pattern and decided to consult Dr. Google.

Dr Google says sugar consumption is implicated in leg cramps. Apparently too much sugar depletes magnesium stores which causes dehydration which causes cramps.

All true for me as I had a bingey sugar day – lots of sweet carbs and a fair bit of wine (it was Anzac Day). Wasn’t really excessive but I think because I am so ‘sugar free’ now the impact on my body is swifter and more pronounced.

Anyway, thought I’d share that in case it’s helpful for anyone. 😊

    Hope everyone is going well.

Interesting findings Carol. I know I get terrible stomach cramps if I eat carbs in any quantity quickly…eg a hamburger 😐😐
We’ll done on not losing it while you were away. I’m sure your poor friend appreciated the visit. P

    Hi All,

@purple Vegie Eater, could I have some advice please re Kefir grains. I have just been gifted some Kefir grains, for which I am very grateful. However, we are going overseas for two months in a couple of weeks and I am a bit confused as there are all sorts of instructions for long-term storage of grains on the Net. I seem to recall, from some weeks ago, you commenting that you freeze spare grains simply by putting them in the freezer. I don’t want to kill the grains as they have been really hard to acquire over here, but if a simple solution will work I am all for it!

I have only had the grains for a 1 1/2 days, and they were refrigerated for a couple of days prior to delivery so they still waking up and are only producing ‘sour’ milk at the moment but I am feeding them good milk and I have high hopes for them – I think I could already remove some grains as we only need two small cups of kefir a day, and there are more than three tablespoons of grains, and I wouldn’t want them to go hungry πŸ™‚

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Val

    Val,

I bought mine online from Happy Kombucha. They say 1tsp to 250 ml milk. My kitchen isn’t that warm, and I’m using nearer 1 tablespoon to about 330 ml milk every 24 hours.

If you’ve got 3 tbsp already, you could easily take out 1 tbsp and trial freezing and thawing before you go. I think Happy Kombucha suggest freezing with milk powder (I think so you avoid freezer burn).

Purple is more experienced though so I’m sure she’ll sort you out!

    Carol,

Thanks for the info on cramps! I didn’t know that. Another reason to keep sugar consumption minimal! I’m with P, I also find these days that too much bread/refined carb gives me stomach ache/ cramps (not sure it’s IBS though as it doesn’t cause constipation or diarrhoea, just stomach pain!?).

Weightwise, I’ve done a couple of 24 hour fasts this week, just to get away from trigger weight and also to reset appetite/ portion size. It seems to have worked πŸ˜€

Carol, I know exactly what you mean about smaller pig outs! I felt too full this afternoon when out for a walk, and berated myself for having eaten too much, then reviewed what I’d eaten today and realised it hadn’t actually been excessive! Ooh, a couple of slices of sourdough, a boiled egg, some spnach and a banana… not precisely a binge 😊

    Hi Perth Girl Val
Happy is spot on. Only 1 tbs is needed to make your kefir. Take the rest and simply freeze in a zip lock plastic bag. I freeze them very flat so that they defrost again quickly. They don’t need feeding when hybernating. Who does? πŸ˜‰
I’d label that lot, then build the others up until you go and freeze them separately. That way you have an insurance policy. I’ve never had a failure with defrosted grains.
We are off on a trip ourselves today and my lot are taking a break in the freezer. P

I have just joined the forum so am introducing myself, I have been a yo-yo dieter since my teens, and have finally discovered the diet I probably should have always been on through the blood sugar diet. I am not restricting calories any more, after reaching my target of regaining the weight I was when I married 25 years ago, and losing 8 stone in the process from my heaviest in December 2014. I will be maintaining my weight using a variation on the BSD 5:2 with 1 fast day a week, and one day on which anything goes, if I want to use it. The rest will be following the BSD way of life, which restricts the white stuff, but otherwise is a normal diet. This maintenance business is very new to me so any advice or tips will be very welcome.

Hi Mixnmatch, that is so impressive! Well done!

I know this is off topic but can I ask you how you combined the BSD with 5:2. I have a very sweet tooth and eat far too much much bread and cake (often without even noticing). I recently read the BSD diet and thought I would try to incorporate this into my 5:2 by reducing sugar and carbs. I’m hoping that besides weight loss I will feel less sluggish. Do you have any tips about how you got through the diet and incorporated the BSD?

Good luck with the maintenance. I read this thread for inspiration and certainly found some.

Congratulations Mixnmatch and welcome to the Maintainers.
You sound as if you have ended up doing what most of us have discovered. Reducing white carbs to keep a steady insulin level and fasting regularly to allow the body some down time from processing food seems to be the way forward. As you say, it is a life long scheme, not a shortcut to weight loss.
Hang around and share more of your experiences.
    Cheers PVE

    Hi PVE and Happy

Thank you for the kefir info. My spare grains are now sleeping flat out in the freezer. The active grains are creating a ‘drinking yoghurt’ texture with a slight fizz. My DH reckons it tastes of coconut, I just taste a mild sourness.

We are both maintaining with 6:1 after two months on 5:2 to reduce body fat %. I admit to lurking on several forums; I enjoy getting ideas and “people watching” but I don’t post much (not very good at writing in a “casual-style”).

    Val

I know Happy, our ‘pig out’ standards have changed haven’t they lol! It still amazes me though how I can feel as though I’ve pigged out and then like you review what I’ve eaten and it’s really not much at all, maybe just a little more and a little different to our now normal eating patterns.

Congratulations Mixnmatch, a wonderful achievement! I would also be interested in how you Mixnmatch BSD and 5:2 😊

Re kefir, this happened accidentally over the past 3-4 days – I had some kefir brewing but didn’t need it so left it brewing in the cupboard (forget about it actually). I put it in the fridge yesterday and then strained it this morning. It had really thickened up, like a set yoghurt and seemed to me the grains had also multiplied considerably. So I have halved the grains, putting some in the freezer for when a friend would like some. Maybe forgetting about it helps the grains multiply.

They obviously enjoyed their holiday Carol πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

There is a risk that you could starve the grains Carol, if you forget about them too long (and they aren’t slowed in the fridge). Sounds like you got away with it though!

    Mixnmatch,

Congratulations on your weight loss, 8 stone since December 2014 is phenomenal!

I continue to restrict the white stuff too, consuming no added sugar during the week and refined carbs (including all bread and pasta) rarely. I do relax that at weekends, but more moderately and mindfully than pre 5:2! Fasting-wise, I’m flexible, responding to what my weight is doing.

We are currently on a short road trip. The way we control things these days is to share scones and cream, and eat them instead of a meal. Controlled gluttony, I call it 😊😊 P

Thanks for the welcome. I actually started on 5:2 first, and then started gradually moving to BSD. I went from the 500 calories fast days to first 600 and then 800, decreasing the non fast day calories to still give the same average. I always tracked my calories even on non fast days anyway after the previous year while still doing 5:2 managed to actually put back on some weight over the winter through eating/drinking too much on NFD’S. I cut out added sugar and cut down heavily on the starchy carbs, and alcohol. In preparation for a full on last push I worked up slowly to a full 8 weeks at 800 calories by increasing the numbers of fast days (4:3, for two months, then 2:5 for one month, before starting the 8 weeks). In all it took me two years to shift the 8 stone, but 6 stone of that was last year once I discovered the carb connection. Size 22 clothes to now 8-10. My maintenance regime will include one 800 calorie fast day, one ‘anything goes’ day, where I can eat anything that takes my fancy, if I want to. Alcohol only at weekends and on holidays, and the rest of the week keeping to the BSD way of life, which has no calorie restriction, but limits the ‘white stuff’ or easily digested carbs.

Thanks so much. That’s really helpful. And well done again – what an achievement!

Wow!,that’s amazing commitment Mixnmatch. Good on you and how wonderful to see those results!

    Hello

I am still here just been super busy supporting 3 friends who are all going through a tough time

I think I mentioned my friend who was diagnosed with lung cancer and secondaries in the liver – she got her biopsy result and it’s the best news she could have wished for – it seems to be a slow growing cancer and if you are going to get one this is the best to get – she has been undergoing a battery of tests and is seeing a specialist today with hopefully news of a treatment plan……
Another good friend lost her Dad a couple of weeks ago, sort of expected but does not make it easier and a 3rd friend’s daughter (who has been having issues for a number of years!) has been admitted in a psychiatric hospital after several cries for help with attempted suicides – but at least she is now in a safe place and is getting help and hopefully will be diagnosed and can be treated.
So I have been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster but so glad to have been able to offer support and be there for them……..It does make you count your blessings and appreciate your life.

So sorry to unburden like that but I just felt I need to let go of some of it and putting it in writing on here helps – I have also been using my yoga practice, having some ‘restorative practice to pause and let go’ on the yoga mat and it has been very helpful emotionally.

I have stayed mindful of not using food as an emotional crutch during this time and thanks to the 5:2 WOL I remain in maintenance despite the odd blip……
@purple Vegie Eater – congratulations on 3 years of maintenance and @carolannfud on your 3 years on 5:2 – how better to celebrate than with a FD – May sees me into my 6th month of maintenance πŸ’ƒ Happy dance for us all.

On the Kefir front I am pleased to report that it is going really great – I have double fermented on some days with either blueberries or raspberries and love the outcome – grains are looking much healthier and am about the stage where I will need to follow the advice given on her on how to freeze some – @purple Vegie Eater – do you then thaw them out before adding milk and starting again?

Welcome @mixnmatch (8st weight loss – great willpower and paid off big time for you – what an amazing achievement!) and @sweettooth – I joined here recently too and found great inspiration as well – it was good to know that this WOL is sustainable in the long term. I believe that a lot of us have cut down on our carb consumption enormously since starting this WOL. I am a real convert and actually enjoy my 2 x FD each week – it allows me the freedom to not count calories which I find tedious – and I follow 16:8 WOE on my NFD and this combination has kept me below my trigger weight (55kg) since reaching it in early December 2016; and allows me the odd indulgence of coffee and cake out with the OH a couple of times a week and of course a couple of glasses of wine 3 or 4 times a week πŸ₯‚
@purple Vegie Eater – loved the “controlled gluttony” I think this must be my motto too except in my case OH is not on 5:2 but is an exercise fiend so he eats his cake and then 1/2 of mine as well – nothing wasted and it does not end up on my hips πŸ˜‡

@happynow and @carolannfud – I totally agree that my overindulgences are at a totally different level than previous to me finding 5:2 and I love being able to press a “RESET” button with a FD if I feel I have overdone it. Wine and savouries are my usual downfall – if I drink too much I then eat too much……We started a “Pocket Wino” group on the May Challenge……LOL

Sorry for the oversharing at the start of this – thank you for putting up with me doing that

“Life is a circle of happiness, sadness, hard times and good times. If you are going through hard times have faith that good times are on the way”

There’s always going to be light at the end of that tunnel, isn’t there, AT? Sorry to hear of your friends’ problems, but you are right, makes one appreciate what we have. And the cyber-shoulders will never fail πŸ™‚

Perhaps I will try the milk kefir grains. My water ones refuse to multiply, but give us a pleasant-enough drink to sup. No knowing if there is any health benefit, though. And my attempts at making yoghurt – first one very successful, second a flop (I think I didn’t let the milk cool down sufficiently, and used too much for the mix), and the third was okay but weird. If you can double-ferment the kefir that could be a yoghurt replacement on my muesli. I will get some hints from you, AT, if/when I move to them.

Wonderful results, Mixnmatch. You must have gone through a series of wardrobes to keep up (or down) with your changing size. But soooo satisfying to have reached your goal.

    Travel safely, P. πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear your troubles AT. I’m glad you feel you can relieve it a bit with writing to us. Your friends are lucky to have you.
To restart the kefir I put them straight back, frozen in the milk. The first day’s is not quite as thick, but builds up quickly again.
My “controlled glutteny” went a little awry tonight with a young relative we were visiting, dishing up a huge portion of food for us. It would have been really rude to not eat it all. Ah well. Sometimes one just has to cop what comes. Limited eating tomorrow I guess. We have our travel scales with us, so can monitor any damage πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘P

    Hi everyone

Good to read all the stories. Thanks to all regular posters for keeping the thread going. 🌺🌺

I also choose to limit the white stuff (= carbs such as rice, pasta, bread, sugar) to keep my weight under control.

It is now 3.5 years after I began this WOL. I love my fast days and struggle with some of my NFDs.

    Cheers, Bay πŸŒΈπŸŒΈπŸŒΊπŸŒΊπŸ’πŸ’πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

    Keep going, AT

    Well done, Mix

    Have fun, Purple.

Hi Fast, Happy, Barata, Carol. 🌺🌺🌺🌺

G’day Bay. Nice to see you hack ☺☺

Hack? Well maybe! Haha! Hope the trip is fun. β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈπŸŒ΄πŸŒ΄

Well I’m on 3 years and 4 months since starting intermittent fasting, and 3 years maintaining.

Given how many of us here shed our excess and have kept it off, I think we can safely say intermittent fasting works!

Bay, I would normally agree with you…But today is a fast day and I’m not loving it, I’m struggling!!

AT, sorry to hear about the emotionally draining time you are having with friends lately. Don’t forget to look after yourself while you’re supporting everyone else.

My wardrobe is a work in progress and I have been making heavy use of charity shops while in my current experimental stage. I also still have some of my larger tops where trying them on revealed they were still wearable, with rolled up sleeves or a wide belt, to bulk out my choices. Belts have been my saviour, size 20 trousers were still wearable if very baggy until size 16 ish for example. I bought one pair of jeans in each size for targets on the way downwards, and the day I got into my size 14 skinny pair was great. I still have them I think, although they definitely need a belt now. I will replace stuff more gradually now, but am still working on exactly what sort of styles are best for me now.

Happy, due to time difference don’t know how long ago you posted but hang in there with your FD!
I struggled Monday morning but was in my stride by the afternoon. I find a binge day Sunday makes for a hard FD Monday!

Hack? Back? Slack, I think, Bay. πŸ˜‰

Mixnmatch, determined never to go back again, we replaced our complete wardrobes at size 12 -14 six months in, only to find they then swam on us as we reached goal 6 months later. I tried to alter many, pull them in with belts etc but in the end replaced them all again with 8s and 10s. Various rellies and charities did very well out of the exercise. 😊 The funniest thing I found was that I no longer had any old clothes for painting and gardening!
It is fascinating where the weight drops off (shoulders, neck and even feet) leaving quite a different shaped body!

And isn’t it SO much easier now to get clothes that fit well now? We visited an old historic woolen mill on our travels in the country yesterday and came away with some gorgeous (Size small) jumpers, socks and, for him, wool jeans.

I hope the fast goes ok Happy. Sometimes we do struggle still. πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘P

Hi Carol. Happy would have posted at 4 o’clock pm (the witching hour 😈), but I guess she should be off to bed soon at 10.20pm. Sleep well Hap. P

    Thanks Carol!

It was actually earlier P, just lunchtime!! I just didn’t feel right with it all. I very nearly jacked it in – I even got some soda bread out of the freezer to defrost! But I put it back in πŸ˜€ ate a slice of ham instead that I found in the fridge, and a tsp of butter, and then coped through to evening. Phew. Fasts have been a breeze lately, but not today!

And yes P, I am just off to bed. Night!

Yes der! I did the time conversion on your first post…oops.
    Glad you survived 😊😊😊😊

Thank you for the support – I had a long chat with the friend with cancer this evening, she had a appointment with a specialist – more tests and possibly referrals to a major London hospital – she has an interesting type apparently – she is feeling much stronger but dreads each new appointment and test understandably!

@barata – we have to look at the positive in every negative – keeps us going doesn’t it? Happy to share anything I’m learning with Kefir making but lots more experience from others here I believe – anyway I found the following link really useful:-
    https://www.culturedfoodlife.com/the-trilogy/kefir/how-to-make-kefir/

@purple Vegie Eater – Thank you for your kind words and for the advice re freezing Kefir grains. Re eating what was served to you – you are correct “Sometimes one just has to cop what comes” and the beauty of this WOL is tomorrow you can undo most the damage! Your bit about an ever changing wardrobe is exactly what happened to me and my local charity shops did well too – I did not keep anything that did not fit me anymore as like you I’m determined never to go back again!

@bayleafoz – thank you – I take great inspiration from all you long timers at the 5:2WOL

@happynow – had not taken on board that you are another long term maintainer – 3 years πŸ’ƒ and I promise that I’m looking after myself too – when I retired from a very stressful job, over 3 years ago now! I promised myself that this was mine and OH time to enjoy life and make the most of each day and that is exactly what we are doing …….

Busy day tomorrow with a 3hr Pilates Workshop on Healthy Backs in the morning then an afternoon of volunteering so should keep me away from food temptations!

Today I have had a very controlled day (which even included a glass of pinot grigio!) after a great FD yesterday so going to bed soon feeling good!

Good night or Good morning depending on where you are in the world

    Dear Happy

Of course you are right. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ I should have written that most fast days are welcome. On Monday I was fasting and trying to cope with a few sad things and it was grey outside, and I simply gave up after fasting all day, and had a glass of wine. So today back on the horse or wagon as the saying goes. The sun is shining after a zero overnight. I always pick up when the sun shines. β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈ

Happy, We must have begun 5:2 around the same time. I began on 25 January 2014 and reached goal weight in June 2014 which included a three week holiday in China.

    Hi MCers,

There has been discussion on various threads about weighing each day or not, and keeping a food diary or not. I can verify the research that shows it works for successful maintainers. My personal experience is that weighing each day and keeping a food diary are essential for me to maintain. When I have stopped these practices, the weight creeps back on. The very act of writing makes me weigh πŸ˜‚ up whether I really want to eat whatever it is.

Also the fact that I have a Fitbit to cheer me on makes me continue to walk until the 10,000 steps are done.
Call me shallow, but I’ll take whatever it takes.

    Cheers, Bay 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Never shallow Bay! You are spot on. It seems to be the experience of most of us…keep monitoring or things go astray.
Up in the freezing mountains I’m definitely needing more jumpers AND fuel to maintain 😊😊P

    Hi Bay,

Yes, I started first week January 2014, after a truly shameful gluttonous Christmas. Well I was sufficiently disgusted with myself come January that I had to do something! If it hadn’t been for 5:2 I wonder if I would have stopped the rot…

I still weigh myself daily. I don’t keep a food diary, but I know it’s the refined carbs and sugars that show up on the scales!

    AT,

Glad to hear your friend is coping more. Obviously lots of people do survive cancer these days, but a lot don’t. I can’t imagine the shock or emotion you’d feel from receiving that news.

I’ll be interested to hear about your healthy back workshop! My back continues to improve, and it’s now been a whole 3 weeks since I last ‘popped’ it out. I’m going to carry on with my basic exercises and daily walks for another couple of weeks though I think before looking for a class/teacher.

Hello, everyone! And thanks for birthday wishes, seems like ages ago now. We’re back from our three Thailand weeks. I’m very happy to see a weight gain of just over 3 lbs. 2lbs under initial target, but over my amended one. OH has not ventured on the scales yet – claims sluggish digestion! More like too much Singha beer, as the gut has regrown.

I’ve had a quick read through, but too tired to retain much. Carol’s point about pigging out is a good one. I just can’t do it now! I even left some of a delicious aubergine lasagne. First 5:2 anniversary passed on 25th of April. It’s weighing every other day which keeps me in check.
    Pol πŸ™‹πŸΌ

Well done maintaining your resolve Happy! Hard at the time but easier than the guilt after if you’d given in and still had a FD to do lol!

Welcome back Polly! Well done maintaining your weight!

What a glorious day we are having up here in Cumbria – went to my “Happy Hour” aerobic class early this morning which set me up for day – did the dreaded housework then no guilt but enjoying the sun out in our garden with a lovely cup of tea and a bit of catch up on the forums.

@bayleafoz – not been at this maintaining lark as long as most of you on here but I weigh only once a week after my 2nd FD and still doing 2 x FDs each week (one of which is often a minimal cal water/tea with skimmed milk) and 16:8 days on my NFDs – no calorie counting but generally low carb intake has kept me below my target weight – [However I do enjoy a slice of cake with a skinny flat white out with the OH a couple of times a week (OH usually has 1/2 of my cake as well as his slice!!) and I’ll confess to enjoying a glass or two of a good wine 3 or 4 days a week!]
I fast for the long term health benefits but also because I enjoy that light feeling on fast days and this seems to be a WOL that has allowed me lose weight and now to maintain that loss – hopefully this will continue πŸ˜‡
@happynow – I’m going down south to catch up with all the friends in a couple of weeks and in the meantime we try to talk/text/email each other regularly.
The Healthy Back Pilates Workshop was excellent – my usual Pilates teacher was running it – covered some basic Anatomy and Physiology, she brought along some models and had an excellent web page showing how all the different muscles and nerves are linked to our spine – then went through various exercises that strengthen all the muscles that support the different parts of our back – Brilliant 3 hours!
@pollypenny – does seem ages ago – so glad you had a fabulous time and minimal weight gain too – definitely a happy dance time πŸ’ƒ

Going to sit out in the garden a bit longer and read my book – another cup of earl grey beckons…..

First maintenance fast day today, currently at 710 calories, 33g carbs (BSD version). Didn’t start eating until gone 3pm which has helped me feel full now still I think. Going to vote in the mayoral election and then see how I feel about a small snack later with my remaining 90 calories.

I went to see a great film yesterday – Lady Macbeth – as a reviewer said “A film of genuine force, it strikes you in the gut with a clenched fist, simultaneously seduced by its beauty while recoiling at the moral abyss” I would highly recommend

I had a good start to my day yesterday but then DD rang and said why don’t we go out for an early meal, when she finished work before I met my friends for the 8pm showing of the film……..all I can say is OH DEARβ€¦β€¦β€¦πŸ˜ˆ so today was a much needed FD – I have stayed on a low calorie fluid only FD so far, so I’m checking in on the forum to keep me inspired – will have a glass of my Kefir before bed to help me have a good night sleep. OH has just suggested we go out to brunch tomorrow at my favourite brunch place so that I can look forward to sourdough toast, smashed avocado, poached eggs and a sprinkling of feta……..Bless him!

Had a lovely walk this morning – glorious weather and the bluebells were out in force in a forested area we walked through – smelt wonderful too!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some good weather like I have been – weekend looks good too.

    Hope you stayed inspired AT!

I’m at trigger and have a big celebratory weekend planned – I’ll need all the luck I can get for my weigh in on Monday! πŸ˜„πŸΎπŸŽ‚

Have a good weekend everyone, hope your beautiful weather continues AT. β˜€οΈ

AT, that brunch is my idea of heaven! Sadly my OH heads straight for the greasiest spoon he can find!

Carol, I’m sure you’ll be fine! I’ve had times stuck bobbing around at trigger, but we know how to lose weight now right?

I’ve fasted twice this week to try and reset hunger and portion sizes. I’ve not calorie counted on the one (evening) meal, but kept it refined carb-free.

It occurred to me today that I record my lightest weight of the week as my weight, but actually on at least four days of the week I’m heavier than that. I probably ought to take the average ☹️

Nice try Happy! 😊 I weigh every day and then roughly work out the average without getting too technical which is why if anyone asks how much I weigh I give them a range as my response.

Morning, all. AT, I’m looking forward to Lady Macbeth, too. I always want to know, or create, the whole story of second rank characters. The brunch sounds great. We had a sort of brunch yesterday as we were in Chester to spend my vouchers, so went to Bella Italia.

The previous day was challenging as it was a Grumpy Old Women lunch – I had a starter – then Dining Club in the evening. Thanks to 5:2 my much reduced appetite ensured that I was more than satisfied with a starter and main, which I’d chosen in advance. A single potato was the only carb.It was easy to refuse a pudding. 16-8 is my maintenance answer. Friday morning scales showed me back under my maintenance target, so lost the holiday gain, too.

Carol, you’ll probably find that you can eat just what you fancy at the celebration. I weigh every other day, but record on Friday, that’s apart from returning from a holiday or babysitting in the USA trip.
