  • Hi guys!

I’m fairly new to this so hoping someone can help me?

I started 5:2 on 30th November and so far I’ve lost 6lbs, I’m only 4″11 so I know the weight will take longer to shift on me..

My question is, generally how much of what we lose is water weight? I’m loving seeing the lbs come down every week but I’m finding my measurements are either maintaining or in some cases going up? I can’t think of why this could be other than water weight?

Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
The average loss for women is 1lb per week so you are doing very well. Weight will fluctuate for many reasons and if your digestive tract is full or you are retaining water or pre menstrual not only will your weight go up but your waist measurement will increase. We all know about that tight waistband after a big meal.
I would say don’t worry about daily fluctuations in weight or measurements, if the general trend in your weight is down then all is well.
    Good luck 😊
