Plant-based in the USA

  • I’m just starting the 5:2 diet and very hopeful I will see weight loss results. Even with following a primarily plant-based diet, I can’t seem to lose excess pounds. I believe I read there was a vegetarian forum but can’t seem to find it. I don’t eat any meat or dairy. I will very rarely have eggs or fish. I’m on my second fast day this week and already finding it easier than my first one!

    Refined grains like bread, pasta rice are plant based but I wouldnt describe them as overly healthy for you. Same for potatoes. Sugar and alcohol are plant based but they aren’t healthy for you. So it really boils down to what plant based foods youre eating and how much your eating. I primarily eat a plant based diet but also include some dairy and meat.

    5:2 works well if you give it a genuine go.
