Planning to start next week – any advice?

    Any advice for me? How much weight do people typically lose in the first week?

    It is a way of life and not a diet.

    Have a good look at the FAQ’s and plan what you are going to eat on a Fast Day, so that you don’t have to go to the shops on a FD. Also, think about what you are going to do to keep busy.

    An average loss is 1 lb a week but that may vary week to week.

    Drink lots of water!! You lose about 1 pound (0.5 kg) per week on average. Avoid ALL sugar and simple carbs like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Avoid shakes. Limit fruits and NEVER fruit juice only whole fruits. Try and get your carbs from veggies. Don’t be scared of fats like cheese, low sugar high fat yogurt, avocadoes. Nuts like walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts are good. Drink 1 or 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar before each meal.

    Takes about a month to detox from sugar so hang tough for that period. It gets easier after that. Good luck it works. I lost 45 pounds (21 kg) and have been in maintenance mode since March.

    I find eating minimum 50 grams protein on my Fasting Days makes all the difference for me in quelling hunger and adding a feeling of nourishment and satiation.
