  • Day 21……Florida…..FD

Yesterday turned out to be a really good FD. I love when that happens! I’m going to try for another one today, I may venture up towards 800 calories though, only because my OH and OS are up north for their annual boys hunting week. So, I asked the youngest kid what he wanted so burgers and rice it will be.

It’s gonna be a late night as after work, I have to stop and get my stuff for turkey dinner. My boys fly in Thanksgiving, so we were not going to have a big turkey dinner but then chatting with the OH, he is having second thoughts on not doing it. So, off to the store I go……

Well…. it’s a quick post as life is moving a tad fast for me this morning!

I do not have ducks 🦆
    I do not have rows!
I have monkeys 🐒 and they’re running the circus!

    Day 21, Iceland, FD

Thank you @simcoeluv @miraclelou @bert1802 and @penz for sharing your thoughts and valuable experiences and for your encouraging words! I realise that it was a bit of a naive question and I am trying to be more patient… 🙂 I am happy to give up most of my favourite things drink- and foodwise in order to reach my goal (and have already done so – no chocolate for three weeks now), but the challenge is not to give up when all the effort does not bring any results for long periods of time. Therefore I am very grateful to have found this great thread and hopeful that I will manage to keep at it this time!

Day 21 – Perth, Western Australia – NFD

    Day 21 – Massachusetts – FD

I was worried that with how crazy indulgent my weekend was that I wouldn’t be able to stick to my Fast day yesterday – but no problems! Today I am traveling from Massachusetts to New Jersey for American Thanksgiving so I think I should be able to do another Fast day today (first b2b!). Good luck today everyone!

Day 21 USA (Illinois) – CD

Yesterday turned into a 600 calorie FD, and I know I needed that. Going to do a very controlled day today. The indulgences of the past week will be cast aside. Almost back to my exact 160# maintenance. Not thin by any means, but it seems right for me.

Yesterday it was finally sunny and quite warm for November, so the piles of leaves that have been mounting up for weeks finally got raked. Will do some more today, and hopefully be done with outside work for a while. I also will put away the fall decorations and orange (my favorite color) in the next day or so in favor of the red for Christmastime.

Still coming down from my concert high. I was happy to share the Facebook photos and videos.

@debster251 – you are so kind. I’ve been a singer and piano player since I was a girl, and I love feeding and watching birds!

@flourbaby – I love the idea of our new team of Spanx and 5:2! I really wondered if I would still be able to breathe well much less sing with those high-waisted Spanx pantyhose. It was okay, but sure hard to get on! I allowed myself an extra 10 minutes just to dress! After they were on, I discovered a built-in “hole/flap” in the crotch for bathroom ease. At first I thought I had ripped them right away. Not sure when I will be wearing them again.

    Onward and downward.

@StephieS, a typical morning walk is probably around 9km. And more like a 7km in the afternoon. Slightly longer on the weekend. The rest is walking around the house, supermarket, etc. I actually find the walking helps me NOT getting hungry.

@bigviking, those are really good distances to do on a daily basis! I can imagine that walking would keep the mind and the body too busy for food! I do long walks every so often with a walking group(around 13-15km) but I worry about feeling light headed on a FD, I might try it for once! Great for weight loss anyway lol 🙂

    Day 21 – USA – NFD

@daffodil2010, sorry to hear about your stepson; please keep us updated! Also glad to hear your cat recovered. Good news about your tests! @flourbaby, you sound very determinted; you go, girl! @Fabrabbit, amazing results and I marvel at how you can read your body’s signals so well. How low are you going to go? @leggit, have fun driving down I-95 to from MA to NJ…I’ve done that trip many times!

    Day 21, US, NFD

Uncharacteristically for me yesterday’s FD involved food. I usually do a liquid FD. But my OH made a ham and cheese toastie with mustard for dinner, and I just had to have one. It was sooooo good. I really enjoyed its flavour, more so than if it was a “normal day”. We also had a very basic lettuce and kalamata olive salad. Still tehcnically a FD in terms of overall calories, but not my usual approach. Still, it does reflect the flexibility of 5:2.

Might be an OMAD today. See how it goes. (or chicken salad for lunch and another ham and cheese toastie for dinner!)

    Day 21, Gozo, Malta, fd

Yesterday fast day ended at around 950 calories. Today I will end at 800 calories.

Have a great evening everyone, onwards and downwards.

    Day 21 NFD Oregon USA

Good morning from a very soggy Oregon. 😊

Very pleased with my FD yesterday and stayed at 485 calories. I am really finding decaf teas (flavors like peach, india chai spice, vanilla) to be my saviors in the night especially for that 7p-10p window (someone mentioned struggling then too).

I “cheated” this morning and weighed myself. Good news there I’m down 3.5 pounds for the month and moved into a “new decade”. Still 1.5 to go for my monthly goal. I wanted to see that post fast number for inspiration I guess. Also not sure that Friday morning after the Thanksgiving meal (sodium, heavy, etc) will be a good test. Going to do my second FD on Friday which I think will feel good after turkey day. 🍗

Another find that I had yesterday for FD. (And for those of you that don’t have Trader Joe’s near you I really AM sorry!) Trader Joe’s Spicy Black Bean Soup. Ready to heat and eat, only 70 calories per cup with 4g of protein and 4g of fiber in each serving. One tortilla chip crunched on top and it was sooo good.

Trying to stick to CD’s today and tomorrow as I don’t want to worry too much about Thanksgiving day.

Good choices and strength to all.

    Day 22/FD 2nd B2B/Melbourne Australia

Yesterday’s FD flew by. I’m adding a 2nd before the weekend’s festivities start.

Sorry I haven’t replied to everyone. @fatrabbit you are an inspiration. You’re inspiring me to get on the weight loss wagon again and move my BMI below 22.5.
@songbirdme loved the photos and videos

Have a great day everyone. As @anna6 says onwards and downwards.

Day 21 – SW WA USA – FD

Decided to do another FD as well, seeing American Thanksgiving is this week & there will be lots of wonderful food.

Together we can all do this!

Day 21- Colorado USA- OMAD (one meal a day, just dinner tonight.)

Had a solid controlled low-cal day yesterday. OH already advised we’re eating dinner out tonight, so I’m doing LFD till the restaurant. It’s Italian, but I plan to dodge the high-carb pasta & steer toward the meats/ salads/ soup selections.

Right now my tummy is grumbling & complaining quite loudly. To stay strong, I’m reading everyone’s awesome posts while sipping hot plain black coffee. ☕️ Inspired! 👍🏼

@flourbaby – thanks for posting those links re: alcohol. Shocker!
They opened one article discussing Long Island iced tea. One of my fav drinks at my fav restaurant is a cranberry version known as Long Beach iced tea. Oh my 😳 Never again! (Or maybe as just a special birthday treat.)

@fatrabbit & @bigviking – Wowsers!! Amazing progress. Very inspirational, Fab Rabbit & Not-so-big Viking. Your posts are keeping me tough & true to this WOL. Congrats on your success.

    Day 21 Canada NFD

Wearing a pair of jeans I haven’t been able to get into for years!
This WOL is teaching me so much about how much I need to eat.
I now know that I was cramming way to much in and didn’t connect the unhealthy feeling I carried around as simply too much of everything!

Off to manage my day, have fun everyone

Day 21 – McMinnville Oregon USA – NFD
I’m in Bend today for the second and final photography class in this latest series. The group always socializes with wine and munchies before and after the lesson sooooo……trying for control. Headed home tomorrow morning.

@bigviking – Congrats on meeting November goal, well done. Impressive walking too. You are on a roll!!
@daffodil2010 – Gads, sorry about stepson and cat so close on the heels of your good news!!
@jaifaim – I like warm milk before bed, it helps me sleep and it is a liquid.
@fatrabbit – Well done on weight and BMI
@Maayyaa- You are like the energy bunny with such long days. Congrats on your new low, well done!!
    @songbirdme & @flourbaby – May I join your Spanx team???? Does that  “hole/flap” really work? 😀
@mjrbcd44 – Well done on the 3.5!!! That loss will help you stay motivated during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

    Day 21 Akron OH. FD
I haven’t posted in a couple days, it’s a short week with the holidays coming up buy the work load remains the same.
I agree @bellyblast this WOL has taught me to listen to my body in a way I never used to, I love it.
Happy thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates the holiday and my best to you all.

    Day 21 California NFD

I think I may have it a plateau again at 59.7kg 131.6 lb. My weight has been exactly the same for 3 days, even though yesterday was a FD. Oh well, last year at this time I was probably around 70. I’m getting accustomed to the plateaus. This way of eating is easy enough to do. 2 days a week isn’t a big deal. But I wish I could just get to my goal of 58 before hitting a plateau!

Most of my entries on the spread sheet have disappeared again, for the 2nd time. Not sure why that’s happening.

    Day 21 – 🇬🇧- NFD

I had planned for FD but as with this WOL I haven’t beaten myself up because a friend wanted some support & 🍷!!!! Just shows this WOL makes us better friends too 😊

    Day 21, NFD, Germany
    Everything okay today!
Tomorrow I am planning to fast until the evening when I am going to host a thermomix party in my house 😊

    Day 22 – Japan – NFD 82.5kg

I’ve been thinking about what I need to do to retire. While I’m still years away I’m not decades away. Anyway fasting is a great retirement diet, it works and it is cheaper than eating!

It is interesting how much really bad advice is given to people about money. The common theme is start saving when you are young and compounding will make you a million or millions. Well I did and I lost it because life happens and when it is a choice between retirement funds or your baby dying what are you going to do? Anyway last year I was able to save more than I lost even considering lost compounding. Most people use absurd returns in their computations to justify that. Much better advice would be just to stay out debt! Do what ever you can to avoid debt. As your skills and earning improve you have more options when it comes to retirement savings.

The same is true with diets too. Lots of absurdity out there. A most common on is not eating will force your body into starvation mode and you’ll get fat. It is like saying the way to get rich is to never invest in anything. Fasting doesn’t make you fat, eating does.

    Day 21 – Cumbria UK – NFD/CD

Yesterday came in at under 1000cals and today has been another controlled day at just over 1000cals!

I heard some bad news about the daughter of a close friend which has been distressing – will be catching up with her when I head down south at the end of the next week for a visit , it’s at times like this that the distance between my old home and my new home is too far……………

Been very busy today so I haven’t had time to catch up with the posts – Hope everyone is keeping strong and heading in the right direction towards the end of this November Challenge.

As we have not heard from @coda for a bit – I’m putting it out there to see if anyone is willing to take on leading the December Challenge????

    TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER

Day 22 FD Country west Australia
Had a good FD on Monday, controlled day yesterday and trying for another FD today.
Need to be a lot better with 5;2, as I was this time a year ago when I first started!
It’s good to be back on an even keel after a few weeks of illness ( don’t want to get that virus again in a hurry), caring for mum and life in general.
Have caught up on a few posts but will try to read most over the weekend.
Wrote a long post yesterday which disappeared into the ether.
Belated ‘Hallo’ for yesterday which was international ‘Hallo’ day and the thrust of yesterday’s post.
So ‘ Hallo’ everybody. Hope today is the best it can be for all of us.

    Hey everyone,
Just want to say thank you to all that have welcomed me.

Today is a NFD for me. Yesterday I had my FD and ended over my allowance by 35Cal. Was so disappointed in myself. I know where I went wrong, I cooked up a 240g fillet of Basa fish for myself and was only suppose to eat half and ended up eating the hole lot. I probably shouldn’t of had the serve of lite jelly afterwards. The thing is It didn’t register that I would be over till this morning. Oh well to quote Dory (Finding Nemo)

“Just keep swimming, Just Keep swimming!”

I guess I shouldn’t by so hard on myself. As I have already lost 1Kg in a week.
    Onward and Downwards

Day 21 Sarasota, Florida NFD @simmogirl You’re being way to hard on yourself- fish is healthy. It’s not like you ate chocolates (which I’m inclined to do.) Today is the first day I filled a giveaway bag with clothes now too big for me. Hey, I like some of them but… I stayed under 1000 calories today. I think I’ll do my FD tomorrow in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday- the biggest eating day in America!

    second post
@simmogirl. I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself, after all you managed to fast and eat less than you normally would. And 35 calories isn’t too bad!
I have just had a cup of Miso Soup. Not my favourite by a long way but it is interesting what we do/ don’t eat/drink whilst being mindful.
Feeling very hungry after Pilates class so am off to have a coffee as well .😀

2nd post NFD Day 21 Oregon USA

Ugh… Flying off the rails tonight.

I swear NFD’s are harder for me than FD’s.

And @at was it you that shared an alcohol link? If so can you reshare please? I can’t find it and would like to read.

    Reset tomorrow. Again.

    Day 22, Norway, FD
Well, dont know where to beging and dont think i can do the counting either.
I had a successfull FD on monday with a good-underneath-500kcal-dinner around 6pm. Didnt eat anything until 4:30pm on tuesday evening…thinking “hey, this was an easy unplanned b2b”…well, i knew i was going out with my “work union”, but it was for a “cheese plate” and diet coke…so few people turned up so they treated us a full dinner with desserts :(…WHY didnt i just skip the darn dessert!! it was SO not wirth it,and wasnt even good, nevertheless i ate it up. WHY!!! Well, this morning im hungry as heck, but today has to be a successfull 100% all in FD. Out for indian food tomorrow with my M-colleagues.

And about the licorice tea, i had one cup with 2 teabags in yesterday, i had a pretty high puls, to the place where it was kind of annoying, so now the tea is on the table in our coffee room with a post it saying: Want some tea? Please help your self 🙂 No more for me.

Oh man im hungry! i know i have got to eat ALOT of low kcal-things for dinner tonight, to stay away from any kind of dragon.

    Day 21 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – NFD

@awilson, @debster251, @metatauta, and everybody else who commented on my stepson, many thanks. It’s very worrying. He has been transferred overnight to a main educational and specialist hospital in Dublin as the regional hospital can’t stop the bleeding. His pain was getting worse and he is on morphine. One of the scans earlier showed a shadow on his kidney. Prayers and healing reiki for this kid, he is only 26. Hopefully we have a better update today.

Back to 5:2 and it was a good FD yesterday-slightly strayed over the 500 cal as I was quite hungry at bedtime and had a yoghurt, but I never beat myself up about this small stuff. A nice 2lb loss this morning so what this WOL has taught me is that my pounds are very easy come but relatively easy go too 👍

Now I just have to move out of the 140’s and make a move towards November goal which was 137. At least 4 pounds to go and my sisters Hen night on Saturday 🍾.
Today’s NFD will be hopefully a CD, then a B2B FD with Friday being liquid only.
That’s the way to do it…..☺️

Day 22 Newcastle UK 🇬🇧 FD.
Pretty controlled NFD yesterday a handful of nuts and raisins over-the-top possibly. Thanks for the advice Flourbaby. Think Gaffer tape over my mouth would help too.
Feeling old Rodney Bewes aka Bob of the likely lads uk sitcom has passed away. Very sad. There were certain programs on the TV the late 60s and early 70s that the whole family sat around the TV and laughed our heads off this was definitely one of them great memories of family life.

    2nd post
@daffodil2010 I’m so sorry. My thoughts are with your stepson and you.

    Day 22 UK FD

I don’t know how low my body wants to go but it wasn’t particularly hungry yesterday and so I kept the new 145 lbs weight. I made a lovely dahl and gave myself permission for an extra bowl but really didn’t want it and had an extra persimmon instead. Usually between fast days I eat voraciously. Things look bright for my ability to maintain if I ever stop losing as my habits have changed so drastically. I really wouldn’t want to go below ten stone. That wouldn’t be healthy at my height (5 ft 8.5). I briefly reached that weight thirty years ago when I got married but only for the day itself, it didn’t last. It was necessary to fit into the tiny but beautiful wedding dress that I found in a second hand shop. Leftover wedding cake ensured I didn’t stay there, and my husband’s love of restaurant breakfasts…

    Day 22, Belgium, NFD

@dykask, I was thinking the same thing, I’ve been saving a lot of money on food since I started this diet ! Killing two birds with one stone lol AS for money, I’ve come to the same conclusion, debt is the killer, buying good quality products that last is worth every penny, live simply 🙂

@miraclelou, have fun with your Tupperware party tonight 🙂

@steve toon taxi driver, so sad about Rodney Bewes, loved that show, it reminds me of my days with my parents, as you say sitting around telly. I’m trying to do that with my daughter but the only way she’ll sit through someone on telly with me is if I put youtube silly videos lol

@daffodil2010, thinking of you and your stepson, 26 is so young hopefully he’ll pull though soon! keep us posted

@maayyaa, keep strong ! you can do this (oh and I wouldn’t have resisted desert either lol)

@simmogirl, sometimes will be slightly over, some days way under 🙂 1kg in a week is really good anyway !

@califdreamer, looking 11 kg in a year and sticking it out for a year is great !!

@bellyblast, congrats on wearing “those” jeans!! I’ve got a pair waiting for me to get back into them lol

Hello to all I haven’t mentioned individually !

Yesterday finished my first B2B FD at just around 500 and I was very pleased with this, I also found it easier than I expected. Today will be hard as all my NFDs seem to be pfff

Clothes feel looser but I still haven’t weighed myself, I’m worried about being disappointed and giving up, I’ve been on so many diets that just don’t work out in the end.

Anyway, have a good day all ! I need to sort out my car as the battery was flat this morning (my fault I left the little roof light on 😛 )

    Day 22, UK, FD

Back to Monday’s weight this morning, but think it is mostly water. 9 days until end of Dry Winovember.

@dykask, I’m in a similar place to you on retirement. Something has to go seriously wrong for me not to be retired in less than a decade. The compounding has worked very well for 28 years and the next year is when my submarine will come to the surface…😀

And, yes fasting will save on the food bill 2 days a week.

Day 22, London, UK, FD (3rd of B2B2B2B)

All going well so far, I think my body has welcomed these B2Bs with open arms after the abuse I put it through over the weekend!!! I’m gaining back the control, however my company Xmas ‘do’ with wine this weekend is making me anxious………….. not good!!! I may choose to drive just to impose a better booze situation & stay (mostly) faithful to my fellow Dry Winovember-ers!!!

@metatauta, I’m not sure if it’s determination or the shame!!!!! I’m accountable, so I’m putting it out there, there were biscuits and pringles involved in my 2nd EFS weekend this month (Epic Face Stuffing)………………eeurgh!!!!

@awilson, the 5:2/Spanx club is open to all, only 1 requirement…………………….. you must have at least 1 wobbly bit that NEEDS to be tamed!!!

@miraclelou………………….Mmmmhhhh Thermomix………………….. it’s my kitchen gadget dream, I think I would sell a body part to have one!!!!

@simmogirl, no self-flagellation required, 35cals is nothing, I’ve been over by 350cals and still called it a FD, LOL!!! The key is to not make it a habit, just choose your own limit, say 550cals and be happy with it or more importantly……. Consistent. Good Luck!!!

@mjrbcd44, here are the booze links I posted yesterday …………………………. “enjoy”!!!

    http://www.calwineries.com/learn/wine-and-health/science-of-wine-and-health/calories

    http://freefitnesstips.co.uk/5-high-calorie-alcoholic-drinks/

@maayyaa, that sugar/carb dragon lying in wait in that dessert is unfortunately now WIDE awake and roaring for more, More, MORE carbs!!!! I’ve been trying to drown him for the last week with Litres of water, but he’s still tempting me. Lesson learnt (again)………………… do not wake the dragon!!!!!

@daffodil2010, my thoughts and prayers are with your stepson.xxxxx

@steve toon taxi driver…………………….. Great idea!!!! I’m off to buy some tape in preparation for Xmas!!!!

@bigviking, you’re not counting down to Dec 1st for anything special are you?????!!!!! Oh, yeah, I remember!!!!!!!

I’m feeling that light & airy FD feeling I love, I just need to remember it vs the bloated uncomfortable NFD binge feeling when I’m reaching for the biscuits & crisps I have in the house just to torture myself!!!!

    Happy Fasting everyone!!!!!

    Day 22 UK – NFD

I had planned a second week of three FD but life has overtaken today. Not to worry – I am still very positive and very surprised at how I feel…. I’m finding that the FDs are becoming easier – not so light headed and still able to exercise in reasonable measure. The interesting thing is how I feel so much more in control on the NFD – it seems as if because nothing is off limits I never feel as if I’ve failed which usually, in the past, has resulted in major feasting to console myself.

@at – thanks for the recommendation – Homeground now on the list!
@fatrabbit – I would be interested to know how long it has taken you to get back to the wedding weight! That’s a dream of mine!

So many interesting posts! Loving it!

    Day 22 Belfast NFD

As I opened the door after my weekend, the sugar monster came out of its cage and won’t go back in 😰🐉. I went completely off the rails. Sooooo… I’m just having a CD till I get my head round this. Yes @flourbaby ‘Epic Face stuffing’ is just the phrase. Why do I do it?
I actually thought of taking a breather from this WOL but that would be suicide. SO…. this morning I put on a skinny jumper that didn’t fit a few months ago to remind me why I do this.
@flourbaby – that article made me cringe! I shall be crying into my gin! 😢 On a positive note, I’m a Dry till Fri girl, if that’s any consolation
@dykask – do I understand you lost a child? I can’t imagine what that would be like. I’m sure that pain never goes away.
@at – I’m sorry to hear about your sad news. There are times when living a distance from friends and family is so hard. Coda gave an indication that she was taking a breather, but would check in sometimes.
@lilymartin – glad to hear you’re on the mend.
@simmogirl – you’ve done really well. 35 cal is neither here nor there in the big picture. Don’t beat yourself up. Just be pleased with yourself for your success. 👍
@maayyaa – today’s a new day! Hope you enjoyed the meal!
@daffodil – thoughts and prayers with you and your stepson. Xo
@bellyblast – I think a 👖 moment is the ultimate proof of your success. Well done.
@SteveToonTaxiDriver – I’m taking up your suggestion of gaffer tape over the mouth today. 🤐

Remember: Every day is an opportunity to start again and be better

    Day 22 Wales NFD

As I get close to my initial goal weight of 140 I may rethink and go a bit lower, still have too much bum and belly. Wondering about aiming for a bmi of 22 which would take me down to around 133. This is all very star gazing at this stage as I have to get through December’s holiday and indulgence of the Christmas festivities – but it’s good to have a dream!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Day 22 – Perth, Western Australia – FD

    Day 22, Belfast, NFD

Yesterday’s FD went well, but I couldn’t sleep last night at all. Was awake every few hours, running to the loo…I suppose the mad rain all night contributed but I was hungry too.
Seriously, I have to stop watching food programmes on a fast day….Masterchef… followed by Rick Stein’s taco flipping fest 🙁 pure toture

    Anyway, good luck everyone today

    @lilymartin Hallo! lol

    Day 22, South Wales, NFD/CD

Hello everyone, just catching up on posts today.
@daffodil2010 – hoping you have good news on your stepson very soon
@simmogirl – don’t worry about 35 cals (Michael Moseley’s new ‘Blood sugar diet’ mentions up to 800 cals still counting as a FD! Congrats on your great results to date.
@missybear – congratulations too on being within a whisker of your goal. That is fantastic!
@belfastsink – I know what you mean about the food programmes on FD. I must stop!!

I was feeling a bit down about being stuck on a yoyo/plateau this last week so I got looked at some old photos from February/March and a photo from last month – it definitely boosted my mood to see what a difference the 28lb weight loss makes!

    Day 22…..Florida……?

Well, the holidays are up on us now, I really wondered this year when it was going to start, the rush of food, special treats and what haves from our contractors, vendors and customers. Pizza and brownies yesterday!
It has begun…… time to dust off my battle uniform….. going where it like a glove all season long!
A dear friend of mine is currently in her reawakening process of her life, she is getting healthy, losing weight and most importantly learning to finally love herself as much as the rest of us love her. She is currently doing a WOL that is different from ours but she started a challenge for the holidays called Maintain…. No gain challenge for the holidays. I really do not know what the challenge entails yet but I signed up not only for myself but to support her efforts too.
I’m going to sail through year 2 holidays with ease!

@ songbird….. My favorite color is Autumn yellow but my living room is the decorated okay almost my whole home in Autumn colors. Rustic orange walls, Browns, greens and hint of burgundy. So, putting my fall decorations out is my favorite part of the season….. so sad to see them go!

@bellyblast….. Congrats! You are now experiencing my favorite part of the WOL, discovering the back of the closet. Going into that black hole is scary at first but the rewards and gifts produced out there, makes it so worth the journey!

@simmogirl……. don’t forget to love yourself! You got this! Think of where you came from, this time just a few month or a few weeks ago, you were at point A…. now your traveling to Z, 35 calories is not going to stop the journey, it’s only a curve in the road…. keep going!

@dykask…… I would so love to retire right now. About 15 years ago, we went debt free, no credit cards, no car payments, heck I even stop with using banks because of the fees. Best decision we ever made. If we don’t have enough cash, we don’t buy it.
However, although we are debit free, we still struggle at times and as far as retirement, it’s either sink or swim…… I don’t feel like drowning, so I’ll swim.

Okay well….. my last day of work before the holiday….. so best be off…..

I can host Dec. but I can’t do the spread sheet unfortunately, so if you don’t mind that, I’ll do Dec.

I do not have ducks 🦆
    I do not have rows!
I have monkeys 🐒 and they’re running the circus!

    Day 22 Akron OH FD

    Day 22, US, NFD

Well, so much for my OMAD planned for yesterday. I really must learn to say no. My OH had cooked steaks, which meant of course, we had to have red wine with it. And I really wasn’t even hungry.

I’ve made no progress this month; in fact I think I’ve gone backwards. So rather than punishing myself over this holiday weekend, I’ll just reset Monday. I’ll then have a good 4 weeks before giving myself permission to indulge over Christmas. Then it’s a new year. I’ve still got this!

Thinking of you Daffodil2010 – what a terrifying time for you and your family. Hope you get some good news soon re your stepson.

    Day 22 USA (Illinois) CD

Maintenance is my mantra – doing well at that. The indulgences will be offset by FD’s quite well.

@happymargo – Long Island Iced Tea is also my favorite summer beverage! I discovered how many calories they have last summer, but yes, still did have one every so often, but I counted them on MFP. On our WOL we can do that!

@awilson – happy to have you with @flourbaby and me on our Spanx Team! And yes, the flap opening was very convenient!

@dykask – retirement and 5:2 go well together. The main problem is, for me anyway, keeping real busy on FD’s so as to not be hungry and want to cook. (I love to cook)

@daffodil1210 – so scary for your stepson indeed. Hugs to you and your family.

@bert1802 – most of my fall decs are outside, just a few things inside, and they go well with my orange Fighting ILLINI football helmet mailbox. 🙂 I will wait until December to put out Christmas items. We will all help you with December hosting greetings, and people have been good about updating the spreadsheet if they so desire.

    Onward and downward.

    Day 22, Gozo, Malta, fd

Fasting at 800 calories today. I’m enjoying the sunshine today. I’m waiting for my four year old granddaughter to finish her drama lesson. Then I pick up my son from his private lesson and I’ll take my granddaughter to her home and mother about ten minutes away from here.

Have a great Wednesday everyone onwards and downwards.

    Day 22 – USA – FD

Day 22 – McMinnville Oregon USA – FD
A quick check in before I head home, I will read post later today.
A bit to much food and 🍷 last night. 😕 Tomorrow is our American Thanksgiving so a LF is in order for today!!
