  • Hi! I started IF last Wednesday & have done 3 days (water only). Have lost 8.5lb. I’ve had an under active thyroid for 10 years ( prior to this I was always within a healthy BMI ) & have struggled to lose weight so I’m hoping that fasting is what does it for me – I’ve been reading of the health benefits the last few days & that interests me just as much as losing weight. Have 3 stone to lose to get to a healthy BMI & 4.5 to lose to be in the middle of a healthy BMI ( my goal ). Came across this site while browsing so hoping to get support when I’m struggling and be a support to others too.

    Hi Lastime !
So we are both newbies .I will have to loose like 20 kg..So far only 3 days of fasting ,but I ate something.Did you really just drink water ? How did you cope with it ? I try to eat those 500 cal…
I´m really exited to see if this is going to work for me !!

Hiys, I also started last wedsnesday. I have not been as good as you have though. I dont know how you are managing water only but clearly the results are there. I am on my 3rd fast day today and am already thinking about what I can cook for my one and only meal tonight. I have about 4.5 stone to lose about the same as you. 3 to get into a healthy BMI. I dont know how my pounds I have lost – if any as I had a pretty wreckless weekend and also only weighed myself for the first time today. But I reckon this is a marathon not a sprint so I am happy to take my time with this and see what works for me.

Well done in finishing your first week and keep up the good work. 8.5lbs is brilliant!

Hi Danlelaevi – Well, I had 1 whole lemon squeezed with warm water once on the 1st 2 fasting days & then water only yesterday – it’s supposed to be a natural diuretic & I intended to do it once each fast day but forgot yesterday. I don’t think that counts as food 🙂 I actually find it easier to drink water as I find if I eat at all I want more food. When things start to get tough I count the hours left to go to bed & it makes it seem easier than thinking I can’t eat until breakfast tomorrow. Once you’re tucked in bed you forget about it. Hunger pangs only last about 20 minutes and knowing tomorrow is an eating day keeps me focused. Another way to do a longer fast is to have breakfast & lunch & then don’t eat dinner until the following night – you get to eat each day but you skip 3 meals. But you just do what works best for you!

Hi Kerry – Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, it seems a pretty good loss for just 3 fasts but I expect it to slow down from now on. Even 1 lb per week will be good. You have exactly the same as me to lose so let me know how you get on.

    Dot
