  • I am new to this as I have never been on a diet before. But in the last 15 years I have had rheumatoid arthritis and fibramalgia.
So out of the denial. I need better health and to find myself again under all this weight.
I am trying to fill in the tracker but it only seems to want the measurement s and weight that I want to end up with. There does not seem to be a place for my current weight.
The other question is about exercise. My b body is sore and I am not sure what and how much to do to start. Have tried 20 or 30 second interval walking but not sure if its enough to start.

Hi there Cintac, I am new to this 5:2 idea as well although I have been a yo yo dieter for years. I completed my first ‘fast day’ yesterday without too much of a problem. Thought I would stick to the Monday and Thursday routine which I hope will work for me. I have read the new, revised fast diet book this week, which is inspiring.

I went into Resourses at the top of the page and found the online tracker where I was able to input my goal weight and my starting weight and measurements. Hope you find it. I also found a page where I could input my details and it gave me my BMI and some other useful information.

I don’t exercise excessively but I do play bowls a few times a week which keeps me fairly active but it’s not high impact stuff. I don’t really like exercise classes but our community does run health walks each week of about 3 or 4 miles, very gentle walks which I might join. I think your idea of interval walking to start with sounds like a great idea, start slowly and build up gradually, if you are starting from a point of not doing any exercise previously and you have a few health issues then gently gently is the way to go. You can do gentle excercise whilst sitting down, stretching etc which could be a good way to start. Maybe mention it to your Doctor or health professional before you start just to be on the safe side.

Best of luck with the plan.

Hi Booklover. Thanks for replying. I did find the tracker and it worked for me this time. Have to fill in my measurments.
I bought the kindle version of the book. I did not realise there was a new and improved version.
Bowls… I often wanted to try them. Loved looking at them play when I was in france. There is a club near me. I should join it.
I think I will stay here for support. I have never lost weight and have been talking about it for years. I cant find myself in it any more.
    Good luck with yours too.
