  • Hi,

I’m totally new to diets. In the past I haven’t really had the incentive to go on a proper diet but since having a baby 7 months ago, maternity leave is taking its toll and I want to lose a stone!

I’m going to give this 5 and 2 diet a go. Has anyone seen significant results with and whats the best structure to do on the 2 5oo calorie days? Also what days are best to do?

Any tips and tricks would be much appreciated. My New Years resolution is also to go out walks with the pram everyday so hoping to see results with this diet too!

    Hi Alison and welcome:

One of the hard things about 5:2 for some people is its lack of structure. You can eat anything you want, and diet any days you want. It always works if you eat 500 or fewer calories on your two diet days and your TDEE or less on your five non diet days.

Here is all of the information you need to be successful on 5:2 – if it is not addressed in one of the links, it probably is not all that important for your success: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    Good Luck!

    Hi Alison,
I am new to the program as well. I started 3 weeks ago and have already lost 16 pounds. Interestingly enough, even when I’m not on a fast day….I really have amazing control about what I’m eating, choices made and the volume of food. I really enjoy this plan and have added HIT exercise as well. The scale is moving, but most importantly, my cloths fit much different. Welcome!

Hi I’ve just started this diet yesterday hoping it’s going to be easy to get into and hoping for some good results
