  • So believe it or believe it not I only discovered this diet existed a week ago, after dieting on and off forever and after splitting with my husband I guess I’ve gone a bit mad with the food & alcohol, situation is I’ve put on around a stone in the past 9 months on top of an already curvy frame, so after trying to find inspiration on the net I found this the 5:2 diet

Quickly read and realised this just might work and ordered the Diet & Recipe Books off Amazon, read them both over 24 hours and started my first fast day yesterday

So I felt upbeat positively clear headed and focussed yesterday, wasn’t hungry really until I had some tomato & basil soup at 5pm yesterday then the hunger began! So had an apple swiftly after and here I am 10:30am the next day, I’m feeling hungry now, drinking plenty and feeling ok

I’m planning on combining my fasting days two together but also (as I’ve got a wedding coming up in a months time) thinking of doing 3 days for a month, has anyone done this and felt OK?

Obviously early days for me but feeling like I could actually do this!

    Hi DSS

You have made a great decision! 5.2 is not a diet though it is a way of eating long term and once you reach goal you can maintain your weight loss by switching to 6.1

Back to back fasting suits some people so if you can manage it then go ahead, there are no rules in 5.2 except to fast minimum 2 days a week and to make sure you stay within your TDEE on non fast days.

If you are going to do 4.3 then I wouldn’t advise that you do three fast days in a row as I think you will find that too much. 4.3 does work for some people and not for others, it just depends. I did 4.3 for a week as I had hit a plateau and it did work but I did M/W/F and then was careful over the weekend.

If you want a bit of help in this first month you could join the September Challenge on the forum as you need to post everyday and everyone on their is very friendly and will answer any of your questions.

    Best of luck 🙂

Hi, thanks for the advice, I will split my fasting days going forward as I am rather hungry now

    Will join Sept Challenge

    Thanks
    X
