  • Hey everyone, thanks for having me. I have been doing a mix of the 5/2 fast and lean gains with 8 hour feeding window. So this is how it looks

Sunday eat dinner don’t eat again until Monday at lunch (500 cal) then not again until Tuesday at lunch (then I start my 8 hours feeding window and do not eat after 7 and consuming under 1200-1400 calories. Wednesday use 8 hour feeding window and same calories then don’t eat again until lunch on Thursday and 5oo cal until Friday (24 hour fast). Saturday, I use 8 hour window most of the time, but I kind of eat more of what I want because we usually go out. Sunday I again start all over again.

I feel great, don’t crave sugar, but haven’t lost but 3 pounds in two weeks. I am not giving up my wine, but I try to keep that in my calories. I do eat fairly well. Salads, chicken, I don’t eat out much except Saturdays.

Suggestions please? am I eating too little? I am walking over 10,000 steps most days and taking CLA, cocoanut supplements and my omega3’s.

any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks steph

I started 5:2 two and a half weeks ago. I have lost 7 lbs so far. I liked the fasting so much that I immediately switched to 4:3, and am doing the Fast Beach Diet.

One thing I noticed right off is that my TDEE calculation was way off. It said 2000 calories on non fast days! I have never eaten that! So in addition to fasting 3 days, I dropped my non fast days to around 1000 calories, removed most bread and fruits, added more veggies, and increased fish oil supplements to 3000 a day.

I also started running again, doing it in a hiit way (run hard for 30 seconds, then walk for 10, repeat).

Also, no snacking between meals, no eating after dinner. Go as long as possible between meals. And I now have a “‘re-feed” day, where I bump my carb intake quite a bit. So far, it is working great. I hope maybe this will help you too.

In my opinion, if the fat isn’t moving, something is wrong with food intake.

when you are doing the 4:3 do you eat within a certain window of time? I only eat within 8 hour window and on my 5;2 days I was only eating once, with no cheating at all. So what does your fast days look like.? thanks steph

I eat breakfast (2 eggs but only 1 yolk) and coffee.

Lunch is celery with a little peanut butter, a cup of soup or a small salad with tuna.

    Dinner is another salad.

I have to eat 3 meals because I take medicine and I get sick if I do it on an empty stomach.

The week that I ate normally on non fast days, I only lost 1 lb. Which is still ok, but I wanted to see more. And I felt like I could do better. As soon as I dropped my non fast day calories, I started losing again.

Also, look at what you are eating. Too much bread, fruit, etc can pack it on.

You need to cut down on your calories, you are eating too much in a day. You should follow a strict and healthy diet plan. Don’t stop eating what you are eating now at once but gradually remove those food items that are harmful for you. I’d also recommend you take natural supplements to control your weight.

Two recommendations for supplemends, sure you arent selling them???

Or are you talking to yourself? Please be clear. At the moment YOU seem to be trying to teach us something, sue you arent selling something?

On Mondays I do this: Sunday night at 18h30 regular supper, Monday at 12h30 light lunch ~400cal, Tuesday breakfast at 6h30. Tuesday and Wednesday are regular days that I don’t pay attention to calories, I simply try not to over eat.

Thursdays I do this: Wednesday night at 18h30 regular supper, no food on Thursday following the ‘it is simpler to not eat’ method, Friday breakfast at 6h30. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are regular days that I don’t pay attention to calories, I simply try not to over eat.

The light lunch on Monday that I have had has been lettuce and a couple of hard-boiled eggs, lettuce and unbreaded chicken, or a salad with no dressing that has tuna.

I have steadily lost 2lbs per week and have been doing this for four weeks.
