  • Well we were out in the river (road) last night til 10.30 trying to keep the dirty muddy water from the field opposite out of the house again. Succeeded! And I did Fast800 too. My left hand is swollen and sore from wringing out towels for four hours the day before. And I ache everywhere. Very tired. Rant over 😀😀.
Lunch out today so def not a FD. A little wine maybe! That is if we can get to Horncastle at all. Love all the talk of chocolate on the posts at the moment! Glad all coats arriving. I use Paramo all year. Pricy but last a long time and not too heavy. Glad Heidi is using the sofa, at her age she deserves one. Must do some cleaning today too, we have guests on Sunday for three nights (not actually looking forward to it). Oops, I am moaning again….. will go now. Good day everyone, fasting or not.

Forgot to say Jean, so pleased about Steve’s results.

    Mel..
Oh you poor thing…all that water and towel ringing..the weather is supposed to be getting better..hard to have guests coming too..

Chin up and wine in hand..
    X

    Forgot ‘ W’…😂

Back home from dentist nothing needed doing so ok for six months. Its raining here so don’t know if the park workout will be on.I must check on Virgin forum to see what’s happening,I got a message yesterday of someone who works for virgin trying to sort me out. After them saying I failed a credit check I went on one of the credit check sites advertised on TV,I had a credit score of excellent,so not being happy with one I tried another two and got the same results.Experian out of a possible 999 I got 961 so they can’t say I have bad credit again.

Oh Mel… Sounds a nightmare! I was brought up at the top of the hill in Lincoln but I remember learning at school about the end of the last ice age flooding the flat fens… Maybe we need to get the Dutch back! Good luck.

    Mx

Manchester is always called for rain even though Liverpool gets more,I can’t imagine being flooded, it just never happens.I hope your ok and can keep the water out Mel.Still not sure if I will go to park, depends on the weather.Steamed cod later on for evening meal(tea).I will contact Virgin later and see what happens.

    Afternoon All…
Very murky here again very drizzly…going for early walk..the boy going to vets problem with his bottom maybe anal glands, he just won’t leave it alone, he’s been like it for 5 days now, something is wrong..

Hair done, shopping done…bought some paint to do the lounge and kitchen, our best man is coming to see us he’s a painter, going to pay him to do it if he has the time , I might do the woodwork…if it comes off…if not I shall start next week.

    Dave..
Still got your problem with Virgin..hope it can be sorted for you..

We are close to the river about 20’ away but other places will flood before we do…( I hope)

    Jean x

Which river Jean?did my exercising in the park in the rain☔☔☔ surprised that the speedway is still on.There is nothing wrong with my Virgin I just want to upgrade. So hopefully I will give them a call in a moment and see what can be done.

I ordered some fishing tackle and it came today, included in it was a voucher for £60 of a case of wine,if anyone wants it you can have it, I think the case of wine must be worth £99 or more so you would save £60.

Jean – our other dog (can’t believe it’s been 2 yrs) always had gland problems at his bottom. He’d ‘scoot’ a lot. Pitied the vet that had to deal with them, but worth getting seen to.

Now bored with fasting (!) and the boy is grumpy. Going to start cooking because I need to do something that will stop my screaming or eating! OH will just have to get his out of the oven.

Looking forward to a nice big plate of sausage and mash 800style.

    Mx

Lunch out and was pleased with my choices, a tomato and halloumi tart with avocado salsa, and salmon fillet on crab risotto. Don’t eat so much red meat now. Then watched the other three eat their desserts. So mindful eating. I write down what I eat, even on NFDs. I find it helps. Does anyone else do this? Jodie has had her problems (not many) but luckily not anal glands.
Minols – living at the top of Steep Hill would have kept you fit 😂😂.

Evening! Quick post before mum comes over…
Mel- poor you & all the cleaning up, hope it’s still okay, looked like you were going to get more today, but hopefully dry tomorrow. Lunch sounded yum! Hope your hand is better soon…
Jean- poor Charlie! Josie had that trouble later on, & poor thing wpuld get itchy from her allergy, ugh…I’m not impressed with our routine- hubby likes to haveva lie-in now he’s retired, but still wants to come out for a walk, so Xena & I are twiddling about waiting for him!
Dave- dedicated doing park gym in the rain! Hope you can get the upgrade sorted…
Minols- stay strong! How’s the boy getting on with his saving up?
I have to confess to having a biscuit while at neighbours, couldn’t resist 😢
They’re difficult now, both getting snipey & argumentative with each other!
Their dog is a darling though! Got on well with my cleaning so a sparkly house!

    Evening All…
Charlie had one side half full the other side ok..steroid injection to stop the itch..go back after 10 days if he doesn’t improve..he is very lively and not ill…we will give him a small walk this evening as his two other walks were a bit early.

I really enjoyed my omelette it’s a while since I have cooked one, with salad.

    Dave..
River Aire, it comes off the River Humber..very tidal…enjoy your speedway..

    Minols..
Were is ‘it’s a way of life’…enjoy your sausage and mash…not my sort of thing, Steve will join you he loves it…

    Mel..
I used to write everything down but not now…I don’t really count calories..I did to start with or if the weight stops and I have got sloppy, I then start back on MFP…coming up to my 4th year fasting..I did a year a bit before that too…

    Hedgehog..
Have a lovely evening with your Mum….hubby will get in the swing hopefully start to get up early…we lay in a bit in the winter..still maybe Charlie will have different ideas..

    Jean x

HH – please come and make my house sparkly. It is currently the opposite and also a smells very damp
    ☹️.
Minols – Oh I love sausage and mash, unfortunately with lots of butter!
Jean – I write it down but don’t count calories, it just makes me more mindful.
Dave – did you go the park?
Going to have some oatcakes and a bit (small) of cheese this evening. Paul has got a custard tart – I love them but luckily there is only one.

Hi all… Dinner both a hit and a miss. The spring greens didn’t really work for me and the but the haricot bean and cauli mash was gorgeous. And I used good sausages from the butchers that were yum.

Mel… My paper round began at the newsagents at the top of steep hill and ended at the prison… We stayed just opposite the hospital. Cycled everywhere – ap and down Lindum hill and out to my grandma’s at Reepham. I went to Horncastle every month on a bus full of teenagers as part of the youth training orchestra…. Can’t think what the college was that would have been our training venue?

Right – quick meeting and hoping I’m full enough to not want to snack later. Ivve deliberately had almost all my 800 at once so I feel completely full. Hope it works.

    Mx

Had my cheese and oatcakes. Was looking forward to butter on them, but resisted and just had a bit of chutney.
Sorry Dave, see you did go to the park in the rain for exercise. Respect!
Minols – think it must have been Banovallum college? Is your cauliflower and haricot beans literally just mashed. With a bit of seasoning it sounds lovely. No butter I suspect ☹️
Fast day tomorrow but must admit I am not lookIng forward to it. Might degenerate into a CDF. Must do something cos the next four days are social things.

Back from speedway I was surprised it was on with all the rain but it was quiet a good meeting. Very cold though.Virgin was a waste of time,I rang them up and they said we can now do it via text message so I thought what a good idea,I answered the first text and an hour later no reply so I took a screen shot of what happened and sent it to the one who was trying to help me online.

    Morning to you all!
Dave- that strange yellow thing in the sky just peeped out here this morning! Glad the speedway was still on. I don’t think I could be bothered with all the faff of upgrading, but there’s a principle involved, hope you get somewhere!
Mel- sorry your house is still damp…mine won’t be clean for long with my lot! Sounds like you’re being very thoughtful with the eating, well done you! I did write everything down to start with, & still do now with the fast800, I try to keep a count of carbs too as am still doing keto (usually!)
Jean- poor Charlie, sounds like he’s irritated things my keep licking? Hopefully the steroids should help!
Minols- no wonder you do cycling about your area now, as you’ve had excellent training! Bet you don’t take your hands off the handlebars while you’re whizzing about like the silly Chris Frome? Ouch! & I agree with Mel, the mash sounds like it needs lots of butter, maybe a little cream too! 😂
Hubby going to wait in for an electrician today- have had trouble pinning him down so hope he comes! I’ll walk Xena & then have to do shopping, haircut later…getting lots of washing done too as it might actually be dry today! Hopefully an 800cals day too.

    Morning all

Feeling good after having achieved control yesterday. Today will be tricky cos we don’t get takeaway until after shinty… Can I hold out until 7.30?

The mash – actually was lushious! The recipe requires a drained tin of haricot and a small cauli steamed, then whizzed with seasoning, a couple of spoons of olive oil and 50g of cheese. That’ s for 4 portions of 160cals each. And it was so nice that it’s occurred to me that it might be a useful standby for 5;2 days as it’s unctuous and satisfying. And apparently if doesn’t give the blood sugar spike of ordinary spuds. So there you go!

Right… Better crack on – just because the boy seems to be having a lie in that does change the jobs I need to do to get us out the door!

Mel – hope you manage some sort of a FD today… Always difficult when you know you’ve got foodie days coming up.

    Mx

    Morning All..
Drizzle here awaiting the yellow boost..

Steve early at hospital for a CT scan at 8.30 this morning for chest specialist we see again in a couple of weeks.

Charlie and I went on our extra long walk as rain is expected, unless we can dodge it later. Since the vets no grass eating or any irritation at all, worth the money to sort him out.

Steve is the same weight wise, I have 2lbs off, very unusual for me…very pleased, no potatoes and bread seems to be working…hope it continues. Meal out for us this evening just for a change..it’s Friday 😀

Hairdressers for my hair cut and blow…there endth my week on appointments!! Phew!

    Dave..
You are having so much trouble with Virgin hope it can be sorted..

    Hedgehog..
You have just reminded me to take washing out of the washer 😂those moments! Hope the electrician arrives for hubby..snap at the hairdressers…

    Mel..
Are you dry inside now?..Loads on the news in your area it looks terrible..which river is bothering you or is it just too much rain…

    Minols..
Keep strong and enjoy your food after the shinty tonight..

    Kay..
    How are you doing??

    Cakey..
Hope all is great and you are enjoying your rest…

Nothing planned as yet so see how the day grows..

    Jean x

Thanks for the reminder, Jean – hair desperately needs cutting back, so now I’ve made the appointment and it can be strimmed next week!
    Mx

    Minols..
You made me laugh….you have a great sense of humour.
    X

Mel- thinking of you, seen on the news about more flooding in Lincs…
Minols- strim of hair indeed…hope that goes well!
Jean- well done 2lbs off is great! I think cutting carbs does seem to help…hope Charlie doesn’t eat anything he shouldn’t, & enjoy your haircut too!
Dave- I guess you’ll be watching the footie tonight, will you watch the afternoon match too?
Stayed dry here, so washing load 4 is in, should be dry for us tomorrow so will see how much I can get done then! Had a lovely walk with Xena, she went the wrong way though & nearly lost me, she was a bit panicky! Sneaked a few extras for her while I was shopping on my own! Tried out the new Aldi but couldn’t get everything so still had to go to tesco😣

I am going on the chocolate diet, I had a bar last Friday and I have lost 3lbs😄. Every time I have had chocolate I have lost weight. My legs are really aching today,it’s hard work in the park.i will miss exercising on Monday because I am going to speedway in kings Lynn 😄 the coach leaves from exactly where I do the exercises and at the same time.Going out now to pay the cheque I got from Tui into my bank.

    Afternoon All..
A bright afternoon first in ages…forecast rain though..
A lovely hour having hair done quite relaxing…left Steve in charge of lunch…hot spicy chicken wings..I used a different spice not as hot as we had in the caravan but enjoyed as a snack…very messy 😂..we like it a lot hotter.

Nothing much planned, just getting washing dry, then ironing…not too much…

    Hedgehog..
I only had two loads, the fun of having a family..hope you get it dried..

Eek Xena nearly lost you..Charlie has only done it once and he was heading home, I realised and my whistle brought him back to me…I always have it in emergency ….I have started training with his new whistle these last few days, all is well.

What have you bought her, new treats? Toys?…you will get used to Aldi, it takes time getting used to…saves stacks of money..I only go to Tesco once in a while for bulk buying what I can’t get, or B and M bargains, for regular brands but cheaper.

Hope you are pleased with your hair…I feel more normal again 😂

    Jean x

    Dave..
Well done on the 3 lbs off (posts crossed)

The chocolate diet could be just what I am looking for 😂

    X

Oh dear, gone from FD to CFD to stuff my face day! Actually not that bad, will be controlled but just couldn’t cope with it today. Good news is the flood has gone and the sun come out. We are nowhere near a river but the layout and hidden springs just spell disaster. Also a new house has been built opposite and a big bank had to be taken away. We all knew it would make a big problem worse but the council doesn’t care.
I should have been good today cos I am going to weigh myself for the first time since the Wales pig out!
Think I am stressed about my cousin from NZ coming on Sunday. Last time she informed me she was vegetarian just as I was dishing up a lamb pasta bake. She is now Keto. (Well she was last week!)
Good on her though she has reversed her type 2 diabetes. Sigh, think I need the chocolate diet Dave!

Yes pushing my luck and bought a bar of Dairy milk😃.Sorted out with Virgin, first full state pension gone in my bank 😄and cheque from Tui gone in too £££££££🤑.Must check my bank after to make sure it’s all gone in.

    Mel…
Glad the weather is calming down…it must of been a worse nightmare.. exciting your cousin is coming over but possibly bad timing…

Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow 🤞

    Dave..
Loaded now..what shall we spend it on..cushions…more holidays..😀..oooh more chocolate…

    Have a good weekend all…

    Jean x

Already booked holiday, and chocolate, Denise was looking at cushions but non that caught her eye. She is talking about cushion hunting tomorrow 😄.My daughter just asked me about buying a new laptop so I said I would go with her tomorrow to look at them.

Dave- decisions, decisions…what to spend all that money on! I do like the idea of that chocolate diet too! 😂
Mel- as a vegetarian who does keto, I can’t say anything about your cousin😂, but I wouldn’t want anyone to have to cook for me right now! Cheese for dinner?!
Jean-glad the whistle’s working with Charlie. I bought Xena a pheasant toy for her birthday (she’ll be a year old next month!), & a big box of expensive chews. The new Aldi’s not that big, so probably doesn’t have everything, but the fish , fruit & veg were definitely cheaper…
    Minols-enjoy the takeaway!
Busy afternoon rushing about, walked Xena longer this afternoon as it’s finally nice! Then had to cook staggered dinners…tomorrow I’m doing a long walk with Mum & lunch out, organised by the ladies in the Church- will be too far & hot for Xena, so will have to walk her early, hope my feet stand up to it! So no 800cals, don’t think there’s much keto on the lunch menu either!

My coat has come, not tried it on yet,too busy watching the Lioness’s.I hope the chocolate works again🍫🍫🍫

We have had a nice meal out and a couple of drinks..thinking of Dave and his new diet…thought I must try it so half a bar of chocolate each from my stash..😂..it better work!…I am after another 2 lbs off.

Finishing the evening with a brandy…it’s been a lovely Friday.

    Saturday is another day 😀

    X

Well done Jean another convert to my chocolate diet😁 well done on the two pounds off,if we lose this coming week we will have started a trend with the choccy.

    Let’s hope so 🤞

For those looking to gain a physiological understanding of how intermittent fasting works and all the benefits associated with it, I recommend watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suJ_L49NBbU

It explains exactly how fasting works and some of the key major health benefits

Tentatively joined the chocolate diet… Having regularly gone over board with my favourite galaxy (hence current weight I suspect) I factored in a VERY small veery dark bar late afternoon, and another little bit after my salad. The fact that the chippy forgot to put parmesan on my salad hopefully meant I head the leeway. Have to say… Still feeling the aftermath of the sugar rush I think – hardly ever up this late these days.

Tomorrow might need to be just a case of hanging out as long as possible before eating after shinty.

Sounds like you enjoyed your day off, Jean… Back to greater control tomorrow, eh.

    Mx

Keep the chocolate going😄😄😄 I have ate my bar so I will be good the rest of the week 😇😇😇.

Well after giving up on FD and CFD yesterday I didn’t eat a lot. Two meals, so keeping up 16:8. Had three Hotel Chocolats. Did just weigh myself and a pound down which was good as I thought I might have put one back on. That is half a stone gone, better than I have done for ages. Next chance for a FD is next Wednesday, then another four days away socialising. Must just be mindful. July looks fairly clear so might try some ADF.
Minols – am I right that shinty is a sport? Do you play or watch?
It will be lovely to walk Jodie without her getting soaked. She was looking very ragged but was beautified at the groomers yesterday.

    Hi all.
We’ll done on the pound, Mel.
Shinty is essentially hockey with violence. We watch, the boy plays. So far, it’s stayed dry.
Trying not to mug the boy for his cheese sandwiches!
    Mx

    Afternoon All..
We had a ride out to Bridlington, Charlie had a good run on the cliffs chasing swallows, into a cafe oops, pull back on tonight’s food..a bit iffy today 😬

Starting to paint the kitchen ceiling after my cuppa, maybe one coat on the walls too…we will see how I go…empty the lounge of curtains and bits and pieces, out Best man is coming over from Bolton for a game of snooker Sunday pm, staying over..he is a decorator he is going to paint my lounge for me, I will do the wood work…

    Minols..
Hope the boy won over his cheese sandwich…enjoy your shinty game…

    Mel..
Well done on the half a stone off..that seems to have moved quick…

    Jean x

Been bowling with my son.We played for half an hour then we stopped for a cuppa, one of the ladies said do you want a brew lads so we had tea and a biscuit,u sat outside and my son was talking to the lady for ages,I had to go back in to get him away,We then played a game and I won 21-16 considering he has never played in his life he did really well. And he enjoyed it,he was invited back next Saturday and she said you will get a free lunch 😄so he is going.

    Evening!
Mel- well done on the pound off, especially with your stressful week! Hope you have a good time with kiwi visitors!
Dave- that’s good that your son enjoyed the bowling, I thought the old ladies woukd like to feed him up! Sadly I don’t think the chocolate diet will work for me…
Jean- hope Charlie didn’t go too near the cliff edge chasing birds?! We never made it to Bridlington when we were at Whitby, looks lovely, is it far from yours?
Minols- hope the shinty was good & no injuries, was the cheese sarnie good 😉
Only just stopped now, except for lunch out- woke early, did ironing 1st thing, took Xena for an extra long walk, then went out with mum for our walk- it was about 3 hrs walking although not fast…mum really enjoyed it too, & I rescued one dog who’d fallen into a pond & couldn’t get out- she thanked me by shaking & covering me with water! The owner was oblivious that she’d fallen in! Glad I didn’t take Xena- would’ve been too much for her & too hot- I got sunburnt, was really cloudy when we left home! Took Xena out again when we got home, cooked dinner & have made a start packing…

    Evening All..
A very tired girl tonight…after my cuppa …6 hours of painting longer than I thought..lots of cutting in with a good colour change..Steve took Charlie out for me, he was in bad books a bit naughty, he is usually good for me.
Up early for another second coat on the walls..then wood work over the next week.

Steve’s idea for a pizza, absolutely terrible, I had 3 pieces and it went in the bin!…out tomorrow night which I could do without, hoping for something small without offending anyone..unless I am feeling not well 😂…the boys will have a game of snooker then I go back and collect them. Stay with my boy.

Lounge painted Monday..at least it saves me…

    Dave..
Lovely to play with your son..hope he starts joining you every week…free lunch to look forward too..

    Hedgehog..
I was panicking about the cliff, I was told to calm down..we didn’t get on the beach he was having such fun at the top…we both enjoyed it ourselves…at home he’s a monkey, comes on whistle call, then he goes downstairs for me to blow again! Definitely caught on what to do 😂..give him a couple of days and will try outside with big treats…you always have lovely weather, ours was good this morning then the rain started again…all your lovely walks, glad mum enjoyed them…poor dog falling in the pond..good deed for the day…
You are going away, which day? getting the boys sorted…

Going to have another red wine…oops…feel the need..

    Jean x

Time for bed. Good meal out with four friends to a pub we haven’t been to before. I didn’t have a starter cos I really fancied a sweet. Good main meal choice – sea bass with roast veg and pesto potatoes. Then didn’t fancy any of the sweets! So a good day. Feeling quite proud of myself, contrary to a lot of posts, finding NFDs easier.

    Always easy NFDs😄

    Morning All..
A brighter day at the moment…

Going to do my second coat of paint on the walls..looking much cleaner and better. Hoping quicker than 4 hours, very fiddly around window and climbing on the units…

Charlie going out with Daddy….Our friend coming later in the day, lovely for a catch-up, he has health problems too so it will be hospital corner 😂..you have to laugh or you would cry…Steve’s breathing not so good again can’t breathe in the night..😬

    Mel..
Well done on a controlled evening always lovely to have a catch up…you deserved it after your awful week..

    Jean x

Good morning all, I think I will have to stop the park exercising (torture)my knees have been terrible since I did it.Not sure what to have for breakfast today, Going to watch speedway in Swindon tomorrow so a long journey down there,at least 3.5 hours.Would be quicker going to Spain 😄. The sun is out but plenty of clouds too.

    Evening!
Dave- did you get chocolate for father’s day? Such a shame about your knees & the execise…
Jean-hope the rest of the decorating goes well & you enjoy the time with friends, will you fast a different day instead? Poor Steve, Charlie being naughty again!
Mel- well done with the meal out! ⭐ for you!
Minols- hope you have an easier week!
Cakey- not sure how long you’re away for, hope you’re having a great time!
Busy day today, tried some new tablets for Xena to settle her in the car; they took a while to work so she was noisy on the way to the beach, but quiet coming back! & a very good girl with recall while we were out. Didn’t go to Church today so I could ignore father’s day! Lots of baking & packibg done, decided not to stress about cleaning too much this time as the biys leave it messy anyway! Rucsacs packed now ready, we go very early tomorrow, no phone signal there so won’t be about for a few days…sticking to keto while we’re there so hopefully not too much on this time!
