  • Anyone tried the 4:3 diet and had better results? Considering a switch from the 5:2 for faster results and a change?

    Hi jackyboy,

Quite a few members have tried or are currently practicing 4:3. From what I’ve read there are varying results with it. It works well for some and not so much for others. From what I’ve observed is that those who practice 4:3 don’t seem to stick around. Not sure if they reach their goal and have no need for this group any longer or if is because they find it unsustainable?

Here are some links where the topic is discussed by those practicing:

    hi everyone,

    I’m new in this site.

Yes. The 4:3 diet works on similar principles to 2013’s most popular diet – the 5:2 – which uses intermittent fasting. Put simply: you spend five days eating whatever you like and two days consuming a maximum of 500 calories per day.

Sorry ellie but you don’t spend five days eating whatever you like. That is where many go wrong and don’t understand why they haven’t lost weight.
No foods are forbidden but you cannot eat unlimited amounts because like any other method of weight loss a calorie deficit needs to be created.

5:2 is also associated with the health benefits of IF so it also makes sense to make healthier choices in order to retrain our palates and make it easier to keep the weight off.

jacky, as Lael said there are lots of us who have tried 4:3 and yes it does give faster results but in my experience is harder to keep up long term.
