Aiming to lose 2 1/2 stone and maintain

  • Hi, I’m just starting on this 5:2 regime. I’m 35 and a mum to 4 gorgeous children, they have been my upmost focus for the last 7 years which I have enjoyed every moment of, and although I intend to enjoy every moment in the future, I also need to give myself a looking at as I have gained weight through my pregnancies and through general greed which I desperately want shot of. My pre pregnancy weight was around 9 stone, which is now my aim, I’m 5ft 3″ and hugely uncomfortable at this size, so here’s to the old/New me again! I’m on my 2nd fast day today, and I’ll be getting weighed tomorrow.
    My weight last Thursday was – 11stone 7lbs.

    Anyone wanting to join my weekly weigh ins and fingers crossed progress would be massively welcome!

    Welcome here and I love your username!
    You will love how you feel when you drop a bit of weight, and the lovely feeling on the morning after a fast day!
    Good luck with sorting out how you manage to cope with four kids AND fast days. I hope it is easy. I live quietly on my own, so I am impressed with all the people who have such busy lives! I bet the older kids will find it interesting and help you on fast days.
    Hope some people can join in your weigh ins (I’m not a weigher!). I have favourited a few threads here that have become a bit of a community (although they tend to wax and wane) and that is also a good way to get sharing and support if you need it.

    Thanks Cinque and James for your kind comments, well after a week of really sticking within my 500 cals on a fast day and making a real effort to choose healthy food options on a non fast day (with the occasional treat, opposed to the 3x daily one) I’ve lost 5 lbs. I know this won’t be a weekly event but what a way to boost motivation art the start! Yey!!!
    Thursday 30th June 11 stone 7 lbs
    Thursday 7th July. 11 stone 2 lbs

    So after feeling great about my first week weigh in, and the 5 lb loss,I got complacent and had 2 days of mindless eating where I will undoubtedly have eaten over and beyond my tdee. So I decided that I would throw in additional fat day today, which was going great until my husband bought a sandwich which was too spicy for him, offered it to me and without thinking (or at least trying to not think) I wolfed it down, then followed it up with a constant flow of stodgy carbs. I’m definitely fasting tomorrow, so I can try to make up for it but why must I do this to myself. I’ll read some forum posts for quick fix inspiration to help me with the next three days before weigh day! Bye for now
