    Hi,

It is difficult to give you good advice without knowing a bit more.
Do you work consecutive night shifts?
What would you normally eat during your shift?
What time will you get up tomorrow after going to bed at 9am?

    Hi Nicoladrian

I work late shifts and I tend to give myself a 19 hour window of fasting and then have one meal in a 24 hour period, containing most of my calories. It seems to work for me, but some of the 19 hours is spent asleep so its not so bad. Also I have a pretty sedentary jog.
If you are awake and active all that while it might be harder to do that.

    Best of luck.

thanks for your replies , i only get 4-5 hrs sleep every day and do a run of 7 11 hr night shifts ever other week , normally i would graze on low cal foods all night , so this is a completely different routine for me , im going to try to have my tea approx 300 cals as late as possible and just have a bovril and black coffee whilst at work , see how i get on x

Maybe you can organise things in future so that you are not fasting on the day you start your night shifts which would make it a bit easier.
As for fast days when you are on nights try not to eat as soon as you get up but leave it as late as possible and have something light eg a boiled egg and take a small meal to have during the second half of your shift. When you get home, have a hot drink and go to bed.
It would also be a good idea to cut out the grazing habit regardless of whether it is a fast day or not.
    Good luck.

thanks amazon , i think your right going to try and not start a fast day on the 1st night back in , as im hungry now and the thought of being hungry all nights not too thrilling , iv taken a half tin of tuna in spring water incase i really need something …..thanks for wishing me luck, think i might need it 😉 x

    Hi Nicoladrian,
I work permanant night shifts. I start my fasting days at 6.30pm after tea (not particularly low carb, just healthy whatever and fruit). I start nightshift at 9.30pm and just have water, cups of tea and a banana plus apple. Knock off at 7.30am, sleep and have an apple when l get up at 2-3pm then have a decent tea at 6pm again. So much easier than my fasting days when I’m on days off as work is so busy there is rarely time to eat. My fasting days are Mon and Fri.
