  • Morning/evening all.

    It was me Sarah πŸ™‚

I have a little gadget that counts steps and I use it when i go walking, but I don’t take it everywhere, and was wishing I did Saturday as we must have walked miles at Hampton Court!

Blue sky, sunshine and 5 degrees warmer than yesterday.
I’m supposed to be in the car on the way to dropping it off for a service but I’ve not had my second cup of tea yet, yikes!

RT, love the one liners, SAMM, the tortoise story is πŸ˜†
Have a good day evening all.

    Morning All,

I haven’t had much time for the forum this weekend, it’s been a busy one getting spuds in and vegetable and salad seeds sown. Two days of fresh air and sunshine has certainly lifted my mood, although the bending and digging has left me a bit stiff and achy.

On the subject of colours, I tried on a poloneck at sale price on Saturday. It was lovely, nice shape, good sleeve length. Unfortunately only in black, and left me looking drained and 10 years older. I left it. A couple of years ago I would have bought it, but no more hiding!

The discussion about your overweight tapdancing friends got me thinking, Nama and Jojo. It is obviously better to be overweight and fit than thin and unfit. But being overweight puts more stress on joints. Tapdancing may not be as high impact as running? But I wonder what your friends knees will be like as they age? And their feet? Or will the fact that their muscle tone is good protect against additional joint wear and tear/ splayed/flatfootedness?

    Or am I overthinking this…!

    Hello all

It has been such a busy time since I got back from France, catching up on gardening, visiting my mother and shopping for healthy food. I had a good fast day on Thursday and weighed on Friday. I was very pleased to find I was the same weight as I was before the holiday – sorry Jojo! I still have 10lbs to lose before I assess whether that is my goal or whether I want to go lower, and was having a great day on Friday until OH found an Easter egg we had been given and which I had hidden away and forgotten about. The couple of glasses of prosecco I had been unable to resist reduced my willpower to zero and before I could say ‘Fastrackers’, we had demolished it between us.

Added to this, two friends were celebrating their birthdays with a joint afternoon tea party on Saturday. I had a few sandwiches but only one small(ish!) slice of Victoria sponge. I was driving, so could say no to the bubbles that were freely flowing. There were a few people there I hadn’t seen in a while. I was wearing the size 14 white jeans and got lots of compliments, which gave me new motivation.

OH did his usual Sunday roast yesterday – pork, which was scrummy, so I am quite happy to be fasting today which should negate any significant damage.

Samm, I was so sorry to read about your accident. I do hope you are recovering well – it certainly didn’t dent your humour! Great to read your jokes – and RT’s.

Amazon, I too subscribe to the ‘fitted clothes look best’ theory, and have fallen into the trap of wearing loose shapeless things in the past which just made me look like a big blob. Pink isn’t a good colour on me unless it’s coral or salmon, but I do have a pair of pale turquoise cut-off jeans which I got into for the first time last year, and which I love. I bought them a few years ago to ‘slim into’, but of course never did!

Emel, I’m loving reading about your fascinating trip to China. What a great experience.

Nicky F, I do hope you’re feeling better. How very generous of OH to share his cold!

Ply – that’s a fantastic loss for April so far, you’re going to look great in your son’s graduation photos!

Jojo and CW – hope your respective pain and discomfort has improved.

Sorry not to ‘speak’ to more but have to walk dogs before picking up my mother for a Specsavers appointment. It’s going to be hard to explain why I won’t be eating lunch with her today.

    Hi to everyone else.

Have a good one all – morning or evening.

    Smiffy x

    Hi Happy,

Funny you should mention it, my healthy, overweight, tap-dancing friend is already having problems with one knee! All I can do is tell her how much better mine are. Her husband follows 5:2 and she thinks its a nuisance!

I got a bit of gardening (weeding) done today too, isnt it just the best mood lifter?

    Hi Nama,

Well maybe your friend will come round to 5:2 in her own time. Or maybe she won’t! If she’s tried to lose weight in the past, or lost and then gained, then the fear of failure might prevent her from even trying 5:2. Easier to say I’m fat and happy?

My loss is only 14kg, but when I pick up a 13kg sack of bird feed I’m amazed that I used to carry it around permanently! I can feel the extra down force in my hips, knees and ankles, and I huff and blow, even carrying it a short distance.

    Well
I got up felt much better.so I went to work.
still a bit tender as i limp a little and aggregates my hobbled ankle. Just need somewhere to whine.

I really can’t afford to go on disability . And I’m not wanting get weak in the joints again. So i went back. I’m lunch now.
I’ll resume fasting on friday and Sunday .

Good morning, all! I am away from home with no scale, but wishing I could weigh in! Monday is no longer a fast day for me, my schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
Took a little trip to the Cape Cod National Seashore yesterday and did a lot of walking on trails and the beach.m stopped for lunch late in the afternoon and enjoyed a giant salad with grilled shrimp. Could have been a fast day, but I had an extra glass of wine. Before I was hungry again it was after 7, so my window was closed! If anyone hasn’t tried 18:6 or some variation, I highly recommend it!
Glad you are back to work , SAMM, and I hope it is not too soon.
Meek, fascinating stuff about the Chinese schools. I can’t believe the class sizes are so large.
RT, re cooking methods, most of mine is done on the stovetop or in the oven. Slow cooker occasionally. I have an incredible pork ramen recipe for the slow cooker. I am always trying new recipes, generally at least two a week. Current favorite new cookbook (bought for my husband so he could make dinner once a week!) is called Sheet Pan Suppers. The idea is that everything gets cooked on one pan in the oven. Two winners so far: Chicken and Broccolini with Spicy Peanut Sauce, and Steak Fajitas. Most of the recipes are easy enough for a beginner. I know that’s not you, but maybe the kids could get in on the fun!
Going out for a quick run, happy fasting everyone!

Your day out sounded lovely Ply. I’m glad you were out enjoying spring πŸ˜‰ You seem to have really got a handle on 18:6. It does work well, limiting the eating period, doesn’t it?

RT, I cook in a stainless steel, copper bottomed wok, on the bbq or slow cook “all in together boys” dishes in the oven in ceramic dishes. (Including tagines). I use a stainless steel pressure cooker for soup in winter. I love trying new recipes and tastes constantly. I find the internet invaluable for new food ideas. Just add a few ingredients I have on hand and see what ideas pop up. πŸ™‚ P

    Lovely sounding day, Ply.

Yes I am doing 19:5 on up days (4 per week), and 450 cal days on Monday Wednesday Friday.

I copied the 19:5 in Herring’s book as recommended by RT. I am the 19:5, JoJo
In fact 5pm – 10pm is just too late, so it will be 3pm -8pm food opening this week.

After 10 days on 19:5, I am another kilo plus down.

What I like about 19:5 is that a glass of wine is possible. What I don’t like is that milk in my tea in the mornings is impossible.

    Oh well c’est la vie.

    Wiwi

My Fitness Pal keeps telling me I am not eating enough, but my philosophy is go all in while it feels easy, because I know struggles will come!

    Another kg, Wiwi! Well done!
Ply, my scales are set for when I was 10 kg heavier and not aiming as low, so they tell me all the time to eat more. I LOVE ignoring them πŸ˜‰ I have no idea how to change them. And don’t care. P πŸ™‚
BTW our Travel scales (Petit Mignon on eBay) are excellent if you are travelling.

I agree, Ply, go with the body not the app.
It’s spring here, and I am doing heavy hoeing at present. I can do about 20 minutes without stopping and then I need a rest. I have just felt my blood sugar fall to a low point and will go back after eating( onion and leek soup with a boiled egg and some brazil nuts)

Yes, Purple, the weight is falling off at present. The next 13kg will be relatively easy to lose.
Actually, I have been thinking about the conversation we had in Sydney about using the lowest ever weight as an objective. This would be another 6kg after my first objective of BMI =26. I think it would be better at present not to worry about those 6kg and see afterwards if it is easily done. When I am 74kg, my emphasis will be to maintain, not try to lose more. But we’ll see!! This is exciting and the new Join JoJo uniform of pink jeans will look good.

    Hi everyone.

I like the idea of a smaller eating window, and have just had brunch. I rarely eat dinner later than 6pm so my day is 18/6. Having said that, I am not prepared to give up milk in my morning tea or coffee. It doesn’t make me want to eat so I’m happy with it from the weight loss/control point of view. If it means that the perceived health benefits are slightly diminished as a result, I’ll settle for that too.

Wiwi, well done. You must be very pleased with the speed of weight loss.
Everyone seems very upbeat and philosophical about small blips on the eating horion and that is the way to be IMO. Let’s be positive fast trackers πŸ˜›

China sounds fascinating. How could you take a class of 60 children and remember all of their names and needs……………..

I took my car for service and M.O.T this morning and asked them to repair the A/C. I’ll be without it until Wed pm and it is going to cost a small fortune. I don’t use my car very often, but when I drive long distance it is usually in the summer months and I need the A/C to be working. The car is 8 years old, in good condition, doesn’t need replacing and it is the first time I’ve had to spend any money on it so I guess I should count my blessings.

    horion???????? horizon πŸ™‚

I have not and will not give up the milk in my morning coffee either!

I have cut down on the amount of cows milk I use. It only goes into tea and coffee, as I now buy unsweetened almond milk every week. I have a splash on my granola along with some yoghurt, and I use it for any sauces such as bΓ©chamel and custard, and am planning on using it in some smooth and creamy soups. Much fewer calories than cows milk and tastes good. I think it was Happy who mentioned it, so thanks πŸ™‚

It is a lovely day, sun streaming through the windows. I’m making a very spicy South Indian style prawn curry for dinner. I usually work from scratch but bought a jar of Vindaloo sauce today and have used some of it adding extra chillies, garlic, lime juice, and coconut. I’ve used prawns, green beans, peas, tomatoes and sweet potato. I tried very hard to make one portion but I think there will be one in the bowl and another in the freezer.
Obviously not a FD dinner πŸ˜‰
I’m also making another batch of granola, something I would never have bothered with until I was reminded how good home made is when I was in Adelaide last year staying with my friend. It satisfies on every level and keeps me full for hours.

    Good evening All,
Well done Smiffy, good metabolism I guess.
I have been really busy too. Did not weigh in today but not expecting any loss whilst on pain killers at night. Hip much more comfortable today. Yoga was comfortable even though there was quite a lot of hip work.

I have spent some time in my garden today, weeding, watering and relaxing in the sun. Need to top up my French tan.

Nama and Happy, My friend does not have any health problems, she is very fit and happy. She has a gorgeous husband, successful business, beautiful daughters and fantastic social life. She has her own pool and gym. If she wanted to lose weight I am sure she could do it, she is a very determined lady. Like me she will probably diet when her body tells her enough is enough.

Out socialising myself tonight, possibly wearing my pink jeans, why not?

Hey, just found out Neil Diamond is in Dunedin the same weekend as me in October. Anyone fancy joining me for the concert? I don’t think my daughter will fancy it.

Keep setting achievable goals. You are going well, but always remember that youthful low weight is actually there. Most of us on maintenance have been surprised to find we continued /continue to drop weight and change shape after we have reached “goal”. Our bodies just settle down to their natural weight once we learn the skill of not overeating. Keep going, mate. I’m proud of you! Happy gardening. P (highest rainfall in Sydney in our suburb overnight)

Hi everyone I’ve been a bit AWOL the last few days. Restart is not going as planned, so I’m regrouping and recommencing yet again. I know it’s all in my mind and I need to retrain that first which is what I’m doing. I really want to be back on track.

SAMM glad to hear you’re recouperating well but please don’t overdo things πŸ˜€

Too many other posts to catch right back up .. as usual there’s more to be done with no additional time to do it πŸ˜€ so racing around like the proverbial.

Will try to chat more later πŸ˜€ … bye for now πŸ˜†

You can do it AO. We are right behind you! P πŸ™‚

    Hi all,

Lovely morning here Purple, sorry to hear about Sydney’s storms!

I agree AO, you CAN do it, be patient with yourself! I thought I had escaped too much damage from my weekend of indulgence, but despite a good fast yesterday, no loss today! Obviously my three days took 48 hrs to catch up! So I better be good today. AO we have been in ‘bad habits’ for a long time, it takes a while to break them …. I think as long as we keep climbing back on the wagon, eventually we will get there! Too much to gain.

RT I love ‘one pot’ wonders too. Isn’t it annoying when we have a particularly successful dish, made up on the spot, then forget what exactly went in! I tend to cook in lots of different ways, though I use the oven less since being given a good non-stick, heavy based, largish casserole (with handles and glass lid) that I can simmer things in on elements on top of the stove instead of the oven. Dont BBQ much as husband a lousy cook and thats one area I refuse to step into! Son a good BBQ chef when here!

I am booked in for usual monthly therapeutic massage this morning then plan to follow with a swim, I am so lucky! Never anticipated retirement would be this good.

    Cheers all x

Thank you PVE and Nama for your words of encouragement. I am planning to have a true FD today (first real one in 3 weeks I think it is). I will allow myself some Bonox at around 1 to 2pm then this evening I am planning a 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and tomato and a tiny smidgeon of cheese (I have some already grated so will allow one level dessertspoon of this)

Go for it AO! And keep busy πŸ™‚ P

No choice but to be busy PVE πŸ˜† – I’m at work and in a short while we’re holding an information session for 40 prospective new employees (I’m heavily involved in recruiting here), am only taking quick breaks (so to speak) to keep posting/up to date in here so that I keep focussed on fasting too πŸ˜€ otherwise it’s too easy to “slip” … mind you not bringing any loose change to work helps too as the vending machines here don’t take notes (thank goodness) and only coins, so I only bring notes not coins with me … it’s more the chips (crisps for those in UK) which I get when I crave salt … I’ve decided today that salt will need to wait until I’m at home (by then hopefully I’m past it). I’m drinking more water today too than I have for a while … being sick really screwed my mind/determination up but I will keep plugging away until I achieve again and get fully back on track – will even order different meal on Friday I reckon (even though I really REALLY love the one I get) I will change this to fish as this way I hope I won’t be able to take anything home with me for the next day as that screws up any intentions on Saturdays of late.

AO, Take an apple or carrot and water to work so that you can satisfy your urge to chew and stop the rumblings if you get desperate. I would suggest you see chips as a total ‘no no’ food. I have and I always ate them. Try to develop an aversion to them by looking at them as a tub of oozing lard πŸ™‚ Does that help? πŸ™‚ P

PVE would love to bring an apple, unfortunately I am in an horticulture facility (we grow, hydroponically, a range of varieties of tomatoes) and fresh fruit and veg is not allowed to be brought onto the premises due to possibilities of disease wiping the crops out (we currently have 27 hectares under glass with more coming online shortly – hence the recruitment drive) and so it is very strict (also I have allergy to all orange veggies and fruits (either vomit or bloat or pain or all the above) … I appreciate your suggestions however and will use them for outside of work/weekends. I have water available on my desk at all times, it’s just a matter of getting it from the bottle and into my mouth πŸ˜†

Agree re the NO GO junk (not food) and am trying to develop the aversion and YES that DOES help πŸ˜€ with the mind picture of the packet opening and all this lumpy lard oozing out πŸ˜€

So, can you sample (I mean test) the tomatoes, AO? Nothing better IMO (ooo, I’m now using the abbreviation I didn’t even understand a short while ago! πŸ˜‰

    Hello Everyone,
I love, love, love reading about everyone. About the fit bit calories, am always under, but that is good, I am walking my 10,000 every day.

Keep it up Sarah. And ALWAYS eat less than your Fitbit suggests πŸ™‚ P

PVE not often can we sample them but I can over the next couple of days as we have some for prospective employees to sample and gee some might just jump into my mouth πŸ˜€ … you’re doing well with the abbreviations/acronyms πŸ˜€

For those that like to rewatch the eat, fast live longer video for inspiration . I also rewatch the video. The truth about exercise too.
I like the phrase it takes awhile to break the old habits. The fasting way of life gives many opportunities for the feed days to find new healthy habits .

I’d say for BBQ at home, I started boneless pork ribs in a crockpot , it is damn tasty , but breaks my habit of charring the meat on the grill. I only had to serve it that way one time , I got many requests to make it that way from then on. Wether I shred it onto sandwiches or as whole portion just by themselves. Idont have the mind picture of the charred toxins causing internal damage, but enjoy it very much as one of twenty of my animal protein meals a month. Learning not to totally pig out though with healthier sides on feed and exercise days.

Samm, I’m not sure how you bbq, but “char” never comes into it in our house. I use it as an outdoor cooking device to keep the heat out of the kitchen in summer. Meat is usually marinated, cooked briefly on each side (covered) and allowed to rest. I also do “packets” of fish wrapped with herbs, or vegetables. The closed hood allows slow moist cooking. I cook on the bbq hotplate with minimal oil (or none). I don’t cook over a direct flame and NEVER have carcinogenic burnt bits. I’m far too good a cook for that. πŸ™‚ We also have a special sheet which is handy for cooking on as it keeps the marinade directly under the meat. No bbq tonight with our wild weather, so chicken and turkey tacos cooked on the stove. Mmmm… P

AO hi there my fellow SA fast tracker use the re set and re load and go again mantra do the doable
    keep on keeping
    RT

    Will do RT, will do.

    Morning/evening all.

AO, sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment. Most of us go through it but manage to get back on track, and there is no reason why you can’t either. As Purple says we are all right behind you. Don’t be hard on yourself, just think about what you’ve achieved already, and consider it an unplanned break which is now over πŸ™‚

Another beautiful morning here, I’m going to have to water the garden!
Walking is the order of the day, it’s too nice to exercise indoors.
FD for me and I might treat myself to sushi for dinner.

    Have a good one everybody.

    Good morning Fast Trackers,
Sunny but chilly day here. My first outdoors bowls session today, really looking forward to it. 2 lbs of gained weight from France gone and feeling totally in control at the moment. Quiet two week ahead apart from funeral buffet on Thursday. I will carry an apple and orange in my bag, works a treat when faced with sandwiches and cake.

Need to motivate myself to get some jobs at home done, just want to be out all the time now there is some sun. Gym this afternoon but still taking it easy.

AO – do you have a weekly goal of 1lb minimum, may help! Long term goals can too easily be put back as we all know, including me, now six months behind on mine

AO, we are there to support you. We all know these times when it is more difficult.
One thing that I’ve noticed is that while one is regularly on this thread, it’s relatively easy to get back on the train.
I like JoJo’s suggestion of a short term goal.
I’m sure 500g in a week is doable.

Again I love a comment Purple made a few weeks ago, which pushed me back onto the downward trend. She asked where the lurkers were. It was not aimed at me of course, but I realised that while I was lurking, I was shirking.
I lose when I am contributing regularly.

A beautiful spring day here and my gladioli/dahlia/peony garden is almost created.
I notice that hoeing helps my arthritic elbow.

    Happy day/Peaceful Night.

    XX Wiwi

Hi all, thank you for your words of encouragement. Yes I do have short term goals, mine are 0.5kg/wk with mini goals of 5kg loss being achievements to aim for. I’ve just been struggling and am determined now to get back on track and will get there. It IS a struggle at the moment (as I really do not cope well with winter/cold weather – hated the 2 days with no sun we’ve already had). However I don’t want to be so huge for the rest of my life. I think I need to re-read the book and get my head straight again. I won’t let myself or you all down.

AO you will get back on track, you sounded like you were really unwell and its no wonder fasting and losing weight took the back seat. This thread is great because none of us can keep motivated alone for long. And all the people on here have the same struggles and understand how you feel. We are all happy to share our successes, thats easy, but its harder to open up when things are not so smooth. I think we all know how difficult it is for you at present, but we are able to stand back and look at the big picture and we all know that you will soon get back into the groove. As you say, you dont want to always be big, so really there is only one option isnt there? There is no rush though. I easily lost a kilogram a week at first, but each month it seems to get slower and now I am happy if I lose 400g a week, it all adds up though!

Wiwi and Amazon I am jealous of your gardening! All I am doing lately is sweeping up the wisteria leaves! We have a huge old wisteria on the sunny side of our house and it is shedding all over the paving at present. Jamieson its acorns and Melbourne its wisteria! Never mind, it is exercise I suppose!

Our power went off tonight just as I was about to cook dinner. The gas camping stove came out, dinner cooked, then of course the power came back on!!

I am back to 4:3 this week to undo the weekends carnage – so that means fasting again tomorrow. Two steps forward, one back seems to be my style! I guess I had better take my own advice and be patient…

    Good afternoon Fast Trackers,
Ok so outdoor bowling is so much harder than indoor bowls. Not my best performance but I met some lovely people.

I decided not to go to the gym this afternoon because I still have hip and knee pain, no point aggravating it. My life seems to be so full at the moment, lots of conflicting events both physically and socially. Sometimes it is difficult to make the choice of what to choose to do and what to refuse. It’s all about balance, much the same with food choices. We need to have some protein for building muscles. We need fruit and veg for nutrients to keep us fit and healthy. We do not need sugar and very little carbs but these are usually the foods we crave most. I think we do need to satisfy this craving, but it has to be controlled least it ruin all our efforts.

Exercise is essential to help us maintain good tone and improve energy levels but it also makes us hungry, vicious circle.

Hope you all have a good week.

    Hello everyone,
AO I hope the sun comes out soon for you. I know I get really depressed when I am cold and it is cloudy.
RT and SAMM- love the jokes.
I have been listening the The Life School Podcast and has been helping me with my thought life, but I have a long ways to go. For the next two weeks my goal is planning my meals. I have a hard time with this, but I know if I plan ahead,I might not over eat like I did on Sunday. My stomach is still sore. I know I do it to myself.
On the positive note, since I started fasting.. I have not felt like taking a nap.

    Hi πŸ™‚

    Still on TDEE πŸ™‚

Knee is on the mend, just the occasional bump into something , then I fall down, flop like fish having a heart attack. Then seddenly jump back up like a Kung fu fighter. Waang ahhhh!

Second day 19338 steps. Though would never end but I’m in the union so they have rules about how long I have to work. 12 hours today :p
Finally ready to shut my eyes u til they just pop back open and do it again.

I really like Nama pointing to how hard it is to share difficulty , strikes a cord with me. I mean I don’t seem to have trouble Shari g mi ne issues, just find to best folks that can relate to.
Thanks again JoJo! And fellow FTers. Y’all know whom thou art!

Waters tooo cold and the wind is to brick. Maybe I’ll go to the lake to morrow .

Hi everyone, I really do appreciate your help and assistance with getting my mind back where I need it to continue with this WOL/WOE. Each day I am getting stronger in my resolve and in actioning said resolve.

I must admit I DO find it hard to put out there when I’m struggling but feel I can with you all without having any negative comments (as has happened in the past, hence why I’m reluctant/uneasy posting when I struggle)

On a positive it’s going to be a SUNSHINY day today πŸ˜€ YAY!!

SAMM mental pictures happening here LOL πŸ˜† along with lyrics and music from the song πŸ˜€

Well done Sarah with the lack of napping … I’m sure you’ll get those meals planned out really well.

Must run for now, need to let the chooks out (btw FOUR eggs yesterday), then get ready for work … another busy day ahead.

    Hi all

Well, we really are enjoying some lovely weather here in the UK at present. Like many others, I’ve been taking advantage and getting my vegetable garden up together and seeds sown for some lovely summer crops. Hopefully the exercise is doing some good, along with my usual 4-mile a day walk with one of the dogs. OH takes the other in another direction – much easier as otherwise they are each striving to get ahead of the other!

We’ve got some lovely little lambs running around in the fields and new calves and their mums in the field right next to us who are quite tame.

I had a good fast day yesterday and having a couple of low cal days too this week, before another fast on Friday, as we are entertaining on Thursday evening and again on Saturday. Not weighing again until Saturday but am cautiously optimistic.

AO – so sorry you’ve been under the weather. As everyone else says, be kind to yourself. Every fraction of a pound adds up over time and the weight will just melt away.

Jojo – hope your hip and knee pain are better after a good night’s sleep. Go easy on yourself.
I agree with you that it’s good to have some of the things we crave, in moderation. It’s the reason most of us started this WOL, so that we don’t have to give up the things we enjoy. I don’t have a particularly sweet tooth, but if I thought I could never have a bag of Kettle Chips again, I would just give up as I have on previous diets where such things are banned.

Falling asleep as I type this. Goodnight/morning all.

    Smiffy x

Haven’t heard from lizzypopbottle in a long time. I wish her well!

when I was very young man, i watched a 60+ woman taking way way way too many every day. She passed away not long from then. I still think of her from time to time, I believe it was watching that occur, got me to believing in not allowing long term side effects take hold for temporary problems.

    Chance favors those prepared!

    Smiffy
I like what said about no banned foods.

My experience was as I had been onthe fasting woe for so long.
My cupboards were getting low on the past woe. SO?
Well I re organized the cupboards one day and tossesd out everything that wasn’t health food.
Meaning health food varies, but for me it means I has to give a bennefit more than must micro or macro nutrition. Not just fat/carb/protein or vitamins and minerals, but other benefits like electrolytes, pre and probiotics, anti oxidants, and other pro dries like anti cancer , ph, anti inflammation anti viral , or geared for heart or Brain function like omega3.

Well as I had started to collecting stuffs in the cupboards and started not eating some of it came to a point of critical mass and I forced to deal with it. Took to task as an opportunity !
I decided I would go cold turkey on the other stuff , and just eat from the over stocked health foods.

To my surprise I started going week to week satisfied on the Health foods. Something I thought I may never do. When I do from time to time graze of things I miss. They usually don’t satisfy me as much as I remember, or measure up to the craving for them.

I heard about planned treat once a month. For something really treatful. That has made feel like I have an outlet for for the banned foods. Not really anything banned though. I do look forward to it and is usually a time I share the treat day with a friend or family, because they are not fond of sharing my health foods or or spend the day with a hungry fat guy that’s fasting and eyeing their stuff like a puppy. Whimpering but turning head when offered. :ramble:

Of course I’m mostly talking about feed days.
Eggs and veggies for breakfast, beans and spices for lunch, salad and fish for dinner and a tea time.
The foods from the past were not banned , just replaced over a two year period.
I hardly even put much thought into shopping and eating anymore.

I just keep checklist and update it on Saturday’s when making soups on Saturday’s. Put the order in online and it shows up at my door the next Saturday when I’m making more soup again.
It’s so easy now, that when I go on planned breaks . Going to the grocery freestyle is flustrating.sp

    Take care everyone!

Morning all, another fast day planned today and I am off to bowls. Keeping busy is my way of dealing with this WOL.

Still feeling pretty sad but trying to keep this under control in terms of snacking for comfort. Sleeping well with aid of pain killers.

Keep positive and keep moving friends we will get there and be very happy that we beat obesity.

    Smiffy, snap!

I’ve been getting on with vegetables and salad production.

And we too have spring lambs in the fields next to us (so cute, the ones who have experienced bottle feeding run to you not away), and the cow’s have started calving.

And best of all! Our swallows started arriving on Saturday. Suddenly the skies are alive with their aerial acrobatics.

All’s well with the world (what a difference a bit of sunshine and warmth makes!)

    Happy fasting all.

And chins up those of you who are a bit down at present. It will pass. Remember, you can’t have highs without lows.
