    Has there been any discussion of the 5:2 diet concerning kidney doners or recipients? s
    Specifically does fasting put any excess pressure on the remaining kidney.

    Hi. I’ve no idea at all what the answer to your question is but, with the greatest of respect to my fellow posters, this is too important to ask a group of non-expert strangers. This is definitely a question for your GP, in my opinion.

    Good luck though and hope you find out the info you need.

    Hi, I have had a kidney transplant and I asked if I could do the 5:2 at my clinic and they said it was fine, but to start with 600 calories on the fasting days and eat healthy food on those days, not diet or snack food. Also the obvious – lots of fluid!
    I haven’t started yet and have just found this site but I am thinking my menu through and then I am going to have a go at it 🙂
