  • Thanks bay, I’ll maybe get there by Christmas!

Yay! 73.3 after fast day yesterday. Back on track properly now after all the gadding about.
    Merry

    Morning everyone!
IHAW, OMG you’ve achieved so much – I had no idea. We have such an amazing group on this thread! So very motivating for us all, but in particular, for the newbies who can see just what is possible if they stick with it. Will share your amazing post with the new losers at coffee this morning, so they can see it’s not just about weight loss AND it’s sustainable in the long term. Thank you. x

Bay, we would absolutely love to see you next time you’re over this way…..& that extends to everyone else too!

So, to weigh in. Happy to report I’m 63.5. So down 7.3kg since Mid-feb. Really wanted to get here before leaving on Sunday – very happy. Working on inner knees & inner thighs. If I can get rid of those flabby bits I’ll actually have legs that look reasonable. Haven’t worn a dress in 30 years!

    See you soon Thin!

Have a wonderful day, you wonderful losers!! CM xx

Good morning all my fantastic cyber friends. I spent 3/4hour this morning trying to post and lost four of them so gave up in disgust.

You are all such wonderful role models and inspirations to all of us on this forum. There is always something someone says that will hit home and give you the determination to continue. Everyone is dealing with something whether we admit it or not and to be able to bare your sole in part on this site is a blessing.

Huge congratulations to all the past and present losers, your journey/s are what keeps me focused as I’m sure everyone else will agree.

CharlieG I hope every day is a better day for you, you are a star.

AC, Nads, Thin, Merry you are all inspirations, well done.

Merry I live near Campbelltown so who know maybe we could meet for coffee one day.

Weighed this morning, 79.5, if I had of been in the house on my own I would have been running around punching the air. As it was I settled for a jig in the bathroom. I’m hoping this is the start or end of those dreaded 80s

CM and Thin hope you enjoy your coffee morning.

    Happy Friday everyone

IHAW, 26kilos what a fantastic result. 10 is daunting and to think of 26 is mind blowing.

Did you have that in mind when you started this WOL and how long did it take you. I probably should lose about 20 but can only focus on 5kg increments otherwise it seems unachievable.

Whenever I think it’s too hard I will think of you.

CG – hang in there, sending hugs and thoughts, you are strong and I admire what you’re doing re 5:2
CM- feels like nieghbours, thanks for looking ME/CFS up, hard condition for people to understand, 17 yrs now after the yucky unknown severe virus virus that started it, much better than I was, so a challenge but I have a good life, just different and have come to terms with it.
Thin or KHAW or who had a son with ME/CFS, I’m so sorry to hear that he has this rotten thing, but sending him love and soft hugs, you too.
IHAW- W!! Just wow! What a story, well done you, inspirational
Thin-good strategy! I’m 5.6 too and aiming for 62kg and poss 60 later
Bay- thanks for staying here, you’ve helped us a lot by your example and advice.
    Cheers all,
    Merry

Way to go, Merry…..yay for you! Back on track. Hope you’re feeling a little better today. Good luck at the Physio.

That’s terrific Intesha! Two weeks now, under the dreaded 80. You must be thrilled…..and I bet it would have given your Dad a thrill too if you had run around the house this morning starkers, punching the air! CM xx

Intesha- we can definitely meet for coffee, not too far away. Bit overloaded right now but doable 🙂
    Merry

    Intesha

Congratulations on your weight loss. You are going well. 😆

In total I lost 17 kgs over 7 months, very unevenly, in a series of steps and plateaus after the rush of the first 8 kgs. Like you I think in terms of one day at a time, and one week at a time. I continued losing weight at a slower pace when I found that this way of life really suited me.

Just think, the first 8 kgs were lost in 7 weeks. Then, the next 8 kgs took four months. However, since I didn’t regain any weight, I just enjoyed the sense of being in control. And my body went on rearranging itself. Even though I wasn’t losing weight, I was regaining a figure. 😉

I kept motivated by thinking of the lots of health benefits related to intermittent fasting, as well as weight loss.

    Cheers, Bay 🙂

    Hi all
I want to contribute but my posts won’t post- this is a trial!

Aargh- I will try small posts.
    Hi all
IHAW what an inspiration you are- gaining beauty and health by changing your lifestyle and staying committed to what you know is right for you. I feel in a similar-ish place as I started at 86kgs with severe hypertension and some asthma so I now feel extra positive and motivated. Wondering how tall you are- you must be gorgeously slender- my goal is 66 but will probably revise to 64 when I get there.
After reading the recent posts, CM and. Thin I feel quite overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of people on this forum.

Hi AC I’m 164cm, and not sure about the gorgeous bit, but definitely slender than when I started.

Intesha, when I started, I was hoping to lose 5kg (wasn’t getting any healthier even tho’ I was doing everything the doctor told me to and still gaining weight), and got such a wonderful surprise that this WOE actually worked!!

    Cheers!

AC, know exactly how you feel. Did a really long post this morning and lost it. Made two other attempts same thing. You get all excited but by the fourth attempt you’ve that.

Bay it’s good to know how others struggle. Some breeze through and others seem to be one step forward two steps back. I lost 7kg in the first three months and since then have been up and down like a yo yo, I am coming up to 4 months. At times it has been hard to stay on track. My initial goal was to get to 75kg but after reading all these fantastic success stories feel that maybe I can set my sights lower.

IWAH I guess we all doubt ourselves seeing is believing although I know we should believe to achieve.

CharlieG & Merry – Was in too much of a rush this morning & got my wires crossed! Sorry. CharlieG, I hope the physio goes well for you today and you are feeling a little better too. Baby steps will get you there. Take care.

Our morning coffee was lovely this morning and we spoke about you all…were your ears burning?? I think our newbie is a convert as well and seems very motivated to continue. She had lots of questions and was so interested in how we managed FD & non-FDs. Thin told her about little secret, Slendier. Hopefully, when she has time, we might see her on the forum. Thin is looking great as well…it’s so nice to be able to catch up in person with our cyber-buddies. CM xx

AC, your right, this is a really supportive group of people, and collectively I thank you all for your kind words and cyber hugs. The physio really got me moving this morning, but in doing so, so did the pain raise its ugly little head, so I decided not to continue with today’s fast, this morning had me down 100g for the week, which was better than expected.
Busy cooking today for friend who has just had her cornea graft redone, as she and her sister in law have been wonderful for me, so my chance to repay. Funny, cooking like that makes me crave food less than it used to, and at least up walking around I don’t have any pain.
Off to feed the baby calves, chooks etc. Thank you again for the hugs and wonderful words I just wish we all lived closer, but then I guess we wouldn’t get anything done. Stay warm, Charlie. 🙂

Thanks for your comments Bay and great if you can join us some time, do let us know when you’re next in Perth then. You too PVE if you’re still out there somewhere (you have family in Albany I believe you said). We’re heading down there for a week in July. Brrr.

I met CM and one of her neighbours for coffee today. The neighbour’s just started 5:2 and we hope to see her on here soon. CM reached a new PB this morning and is looking trim and lovely. And, annoyingly, weighs less than I do now (just joshing CM, you thoroughly deserve it). Have a fabulous cruise.

Whoa! When I posted this, about eight new entries popped up so I’ll have to read and catch up now.

Cripes, well I’m all caught up now. Wouldn’t want to miss anything. Intesha, it wasn’t that long ago that you thought you’d never make it into the 70s, just look at you now! I didn’t check any profiles before starting this – did you manage to find the link to the profile so you can add a little about yourself? (no need to answer, I’ll check once I’ve posted this!). Looks like you might have a coffee date coming up with Merry.

Bay, I need a few more animated emoticon lessons please. How do you make a crying one? (Happy today but just planning ahead for bad-scale days).

IHAW, I agree completely with you about setting small goals.

AC, you’re one of the motivating contributors yourself. I really identify with so much of what you say.

CharlieG, you’re up and at it, good for you. Take care of yourself.

Well done Merry, that’s a great weight and a holiday thrown in t’boot. I didn’t mention anyone with CFS but did once have a family member by marriage who suffered from it, very debilitating.

Thoughts with you too MK88, humping all that furniture up and down truck ramps, hope it’s all going well and can’t wait to hear from you soon.

Thin, I’m only hovering at that 79 when it goes down a bit more I will finally have a bit more faith in myself.

Yes it would be lovely to meet someone face to face and discuss our challenges and achievements.

Ok Thin next question, how do I check your profile now that I’ve figured out how to do mine.

Intesha, you just click on the poster’s name to get the ‘skinny’ on them. Pun intended! In which part of the UK do your family live? (I told you I was nosey).

    Thin

Purple is out there still maintaining very well. She announced on one of the other threads that she was off on a trip and would be away for six weeks.

Lessons on icons for a bit of fun 😉

    space colon action colon space

If you forget to put in either space it doesn’t work. I will show you what happens when you deliberately forget. It is quite possible that there are other action words that might work as well as the ones I am aware of.

:wink:no space. :cry:no space. 😆 with space either side.

Or if I put a space in the result is the emoticon. 😥

The ones that I know work are shock, oops, cool, cry, eek, wink, lol.

Bay, that’s so cool. 😎 thanks! Aren’t you clever. You’d taught me the laughing one ages ago but I didn’t realise all it took was a written word within the same formula. Just testing now to see what they look like. 😉 But he’s not animated, is he?

.. Well that worked well, didn’t it! 😉

    I’ll try again 😉

    Nope… 😥
    My cry works….my wink doesn’t wink. 😉

Same. 😥 My cry works. 😉 my wink doesn’t. What happens if you put really rude words in? Oh man, people are going to get sick of us. What are you doing here anyway CM, haven’t you got a trip to pack for? 😆 That still works. Back to the drawing board Bay.

P.S. CM, I think yours have a full stop after the colon. You need a space.

    😮

Anyone joining the forum now is going to think we’re a bunch of whackos.

Hi all, sorry for my sudden departure, had major computer issues!! Still undergoing two physio sessions per week for my groin strain but getting so much better!

Have a fantastic trip CM, I head away in two weeks time so desperately trying to get off 71kgs, ugh!!!! Certainly mainting at present, and thats on AFD!! Only doing 4:3 for the next couple of weeks cos got so much socialising on!

Congratulations to all the newbies, sounds like everyone is doing really well :-):-)

    Yes, Thin….and we’re not???

CM and Thin, you two are whackos, but you keep us amused lol 🙂

CM, where are you going on your holiday, is it just the cruise?

    Te he.

Hi Turnabout, I was thinking about you today, wondering what had happened to you and Transcend. Glad you’re feeling better.

Must admit i’ve been lurking a while! Laughing at all your funny conversations!! Been just a tad busy, gardening mostly, wrapping up warmly against the elements! More white stuff forecast again Sunday, brrrrÅ—!! Can’t seem to budge off 71 for the last couple of weeks, determined to get to 70 or below by take off, need all the wriggle room i can get!!!:-):-):-):-)

    Turnabout

You can make happy faces by putting a colon and a bracket followed by a space 🙂

I agree to being called a whacko 😮

have a great trip, CM Where are you off to? 😆 have fun 😉

CM and Thin,, your winks worked 😎

We just watched Phryne Fisher. What a great series. Now there is one cool woman 😎

    Hi Bay,
I totally agree, this is my one my favourite shows for the week, that and the one that it replaced, the Doctor Blake mysteries. Nothing like a good murder mystery. OH sulked off to watch Shreik in the other room, then I did the same when he put the footy on. Loved all the posts about the little faces. 😎 cheers everyone, Charlie. 🙂

    🙂 I give up…..

    H I all
Oh turnabout that is tough- makes me think about Bay who lost a lot of weight in first weeks then the same amount in 4 months- our bodies just don’t respond in predictable definable ways. We all need to remember that we hear averages- some people are shedding weight whilst others hardly lose at all. A lot off us gave up white carbs and I am totally paleo- otherwise the carbs completely u do all my good work!
Couldn’t find post butt I totally agree with whoever said- when I’m not losing I remind myself of the health benefits- me too! I was having a problem with skin tags on my neck- yes I sound like a real beauty- but they have stopped growing so I guess my insulin growth factor has decreased.
Wish I was having coffee with someone from forum!
At least turnabout- I don’t know how tall you are- you are stuck at a reasonable weight- I am 71.8 with a BMI of 25.5 so whilst I will lose 6-8 more kilos I know I look pretty good- not slender but not fat either.
Merry it’s me with the son with CFS

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome love reading about your journeys
Thought I had had a excellent week this week, but scales are stuck on 88.5 but clothes feel loser so not all that bad, putting it down to hormones 🙂
Was suppose to start at the gym this week, had my gym gear all laid out in the 2nd bedroom but by swipe card to get into the gym hasn’t turned up yet, was posted last Monday …thanks NZ Post.
Hopefully I will get into the gym next week, will be happy if I can get to 85 before I go on holiday,

Good luck at the gym next week BBB. I bet you look great AC, skin tags and all!

Bay, I enjoyed the Miss Fisher episode last night too. My wink isn’t winking at my end.

New low for me today 83.5kgs and, best of all, I fit into my wedding dress which surprised OH and me. If I’m honest, it was a bit tight on the zip and trying to keep my boobs from escaping the bustier that came with it was a bit of a laugh. CM has set me a challenge to break into the 62s while she’s away – OK CM, challenge accepted!

Hey Thin, better check your arithmetic lol!!!

Oh yeah, make that 63.5 – thanks, Intesha!

    Thinner and thinnerThin!
BBB I find it doesn’t work for me to want to be a certain weight at a certain time- sometimes I do make it but as Bay commented it is such a stop and start process- may work for you- fingers crossed- but don’t be disappointed if you stall. I often think I’ve cracked it the I plateau again- but as we keep hearing from everyone, you just stick with the process and it will work.
    We will miss you CM

    Morning all!
Hi Turn, sounds cold in your next of the woods. Just looked at your profile again & you listed your goal as 75! Think you’ve smashed that one! When do you head off?
BBB, congrats on finishing your first week. Looser clothes already – have to be happy with that.
AC, going to miss you guys too. Strange isn’t it?? But I’ll be watching you all from afar.
Yes Intesha, we’re off to Venice for a few days, a cruise Italy & Dalmatian Coast, then a few days in Rome. Will miss the hairy one, who is asleep on my lap. Going to visit his grandma (his breeder) while we’re away. He always has lots of fun with his cousins……& will meet his new kids.
Glad you’ve accepted the challenge Thin. I know you can do it. Good luck.
So, for me there’s a final PB this morning 63.3…. Have absolutely no idea how I managed that as we went out to dinner on Friday night & felt sick all night – pork belly – think I over-ate! Anyway it gives me a little buffer so I can enjoy the trip. At least we all know how to recover from our holidays….quite comforting!
Take care my friends, I’ll post when I can. Hugs to you all. CM xxx

Hello CharliesMum and everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome. I’m in WA. I completed my two fast days last week (Monday and Wednesday. I was aiming to do Thursday but had planned to go out for lunch so switched to Wednesday and it was fine. I love the flexibility of the fastdiet). I am actually looking forward to fasting tomorrow. Is that strange? lol. My scales say I have either not lost anything or lost 2kgs depending on where I place them on the floor! So I have chosen to ignore them for now. My jeans feel just a tad less tight so I am happy with that and will let my clothes be my guide. I have noticed more headaches though even on my non fast days which I do not normally get (I have tried to eat better on my feast days). I have been drinking lots of water so not sure why. Did anybody else feel like this when they first started? Thanks. xxxx

PS Have a wonderful holiday CM

Hi EA. Thanks. Yes, I had headaches for first couple of weeks – quite common so don’t worry, it will pass. Do a search for “ketosis flu” on this site, it will explain why. Congrats on your first week – you’re off to a great start. Look forward to hearing all about your progress! Arrivederchi! CM xx

CM, it’s probably too late to say a big congratulations on your new PB. Well done, a perfect start to your trip, the new you!

Well done EA, a fast week behind you already. Just put the scales in the spot where they deliver the bets results. Pleased to hear you’re also in WA and, who knows, maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see you at the next coffee if you’re close enough.

FD for me today. Developed a cold yesterday and this is my first time fasting when sick. Can’t see that it makes any difference really, hot soups and herbal teas work for both so I’ll just carry on as usual.

Thanks for asking Thin – I have been lurking at times but not posting. I have been a bit busy. Also spent a week or two in Melbourne visiting family and putting weight back on by eating out too often and too well! So, I got a bit down about not losing quickly enough and combating the holiday gain. OH and I are doing 4:3 to get back on track. It’s working.
And also have been feeling a bit sad about some friends who have been diagnosed with nasty illnesses. This is one of the horrible things about growing old – you start to lose people from your life.
Bayleafoz – Phryne Fisher is one of my favourites too. One time when we were in Victoria, we visited all the places she went in her adventures. We have read all the books.
Currently fasting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and am back at the gym 3 classes a week and contemplating when to lift it to 4 classes a week. I feel really great physically and am losing inches still even though the scales are not being as friendly as I’d like them to be.
I hope next week is a good one for all of you.

Thanks for keeping us up to date Transcend, I missed your posts. You’ll be back on track soon I’m sure. I’ve never done 4:3 but that seems a useful tool to keep up one’s sleeve.

Sorry about your feeling down and your friends’ medical problems. You’ve reminded me of something. I do recall my dearest Nan gradually outliving all her friends but one. As a child, I always liked that one old lady friend, never forgot her name, Bessie Bailey, and often wondered whether she’d lived to be 100. Decades later, I tracked her family down through a website I found about the history of the little village I came from. She had lived to be exactly 100. When I was young, she’d always shown a keen interest in all my exploits and travels whenever I visited my Nan. Now it was my turn to be amazed at the fascinating and full life she’d led. Like many of that generation, there were lots of incredible war time stories, etc. It must be very hard to start losing your friends Transcend. I hope they’ll be comfortable.
