  • Doggie you would probably be as pleasantly surprised as I was with the jeans. They are much more stretchy than they used to be & I bought midrise which means they don’t quite reach the waist & give you so much of that awful muffin top. Also either slimleg or skinnyleg can’t remember which & they do slim you down a bit. Give it a go. I was hanging on to my old ones but they looked so baggy on my legs yet the waist was much tighter & gave me a dreadful muffin top & they were a 16! Now I’m better in a 14…go figure!!
SH congrats on that weight loss & also on the new attitude/mindset too!!
CG must go back & look up the link to the cruise….missed the bit of eye candy! sj xxx

Sj the eye candy was from SH description β˜ΊοΈπŸ’Xxxx

So much happening on the thread today so to the serious stuff first.

FIT. Congratulations to you and your sister making the decision to get your own life back and look for an alternative for your sister with Dementia. It is such a hard thing to come to grips with and you both need to do this without the guilt. I am so proud of you both..your sister will be OK no matter what she thinks. It’s time.!! πŸ’œπŸ’•πŸ’œπŸ’•πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’•πŸ’œ.

SH. You really are doing so well with this WOL. Well done. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Gyps. It is so great to have you bake. Both the serious caring gyps with the great advice for FIT and the playful Gyps ..love the excitement that you. Ring with you. I immediately looked up the Brazilian dancing stuff and Carmen Miranda. Should not be hard for us all to throw some fruit together on a comb or headband and make a headpiece each to wear!! What do you think Gals. Are you up for it? And some bright clothes and lots of beads. It is not till the Friday night so we could all make them together after a visit to Paddys Market or somewhere to get the artificial fruit.?. πŸ‰πŸ‡πŸπŸŠπŸ’ a Carmen Miranda craft afternoon in one of our rooms accompanied by some of gyps likker?? 🍸🍹🍸🍹How would that fit with you CG ?? Just a thought!, everyone should have their two bobs worth on this idea. Won’t be offended if you all think I’m nuts!!

Have had a full weekend of Bridge Revision… The penny dropped on so many of the rules. It was great.
Daughter just been over for another session with OH in the garden πŸŒΊπŸŒΉπŸŒ»πŸƒπŸŒΎand the wilderness is slowly being tamed around the house. Followed by lovely dinner cooked by OH..so blessed.

CG . Going to have a go at making that cap for you this week. I will be doing it in Denham but was wondering what you would like as the 2nd colour for the band and lining. It is reversable so need to have the second colour. Also can’t remember your head measurement so if you can post that again it would be great.

Jade. ..better known as the Nutty Professor, hope your charges are feeling better and you get mini iPad tomorrow.
Having my first night without my sleeping pill tonight so hopefully will get a good sleep after having a week of changes habits. So have to sign off now and have a shower and into bed. Nite nite😴😴😴😴

Yay GG! Will have to look up Brazilian dress. but don’t care about authentic, Just the flavour of bright and blingy sounds fun. do you know about transport? do we walk to the boat?. Foot wear will be relevant, so no spike heels for me!

Fish and chips on Lucinda foreshore under shade trees was great. We then spent the afternoon raiding my wardrobe while the fellers watched the cricket. Our gear is often interchangeable and even though we don’t have the same style, she always makes my gear look better! Having lots of fun planning. Gailo is now excited about the Brazilian night and it’s given her incentive to get back on the wagon. She had lost about 15 kilos (tho not all on 5:2) From 90ish, CG. but I’ve been neglecting to support her new beginnings(Like all of you)so she is back up to 80k’s.It is not the same without the thread to keep us on track. She has gone home all revved up now, tho, and with full instructions. Plus miso and slendier noodles from my stash. Got her on a promise to phone in daily on fast days. So we’re cooking with gas!

I am trying to ignore doomsday predictions about major flooding in March. We will make it! Off to boil tomorrow’s eggs. Have a good night everyone cheers! gyps

    Hi all!
Loving all the chat and excitement about the cruise and whether to dress up or not. I think PH’s idea to go shopping for accessories and then have a crafty afternoon making headdresses etc would be brilliant. It would be a great way to break the ice and have fun while sipping on Gypsy’s potions! Make sure you take lots of photos of the eye candy for Jade and me! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹ I hope you got the theme right, GG and that it’s not the other kind of ‘Brazilian’ that you get at the beauty salon…….ouch! Legs crossed as I write!😳😱
SH, you are doing a great job with your losses to date and will continue to succeed with your marvellous attitude and determination.
SJ, sounds like you hit the jackpot with those jeans and a good fit makes all the difference regardless of size. Enjoy showing off your moves in them. Hope the film is enjoyable too.
Gyps, delighted to hear that you are bursting with energy and getting yourself in gear for the tour! It’s wonderful that the Gawdmother is on the same wavelength and all set to party on the cruise. Hope ye had a lovely time at the beach with yummy fish and chips πŸ˜‹
PH, thank you for the kind words of affirmation xx❀️
Dawg, hope you’re feeling more positive about sticking with 5:2 and that you find nice jeans to suit your shape. Marks and Spencer (do you have that store?) do jeans of all types and lengths as well as stretchy leggings that look like jeans but are very comfy and forgiving.
CG, I’m going to look into water aerobics classes too for strengthening my back, I think I’d prefer that to swimming. Hope the mouse hunt was successful and you’ll have all your housework done too…..win/win! πŸ˜€πŸ‘
Hope you are all well rested after the weekend and raring to go for fasting and portion control for the week ahead. I’m getting back on the fasting horse myself tomorrow and feeling good about it. WE CAN DO THIS! BRING IT ON!

Gee my weekend has been so busy i am going back to work tomorrow for a bit of a rest! I am involved in prison ministry as a volunteer so we had an all day training session on Saturday. I took everyone carrot and celery sticks and homemade hommus for morning tea. And watermelon. At least i could eat the morning and afternoon teas! I was out all day today with church and socialising. Its a cafe church and we still go to a coffee shop and hang out afterwards. Its a very social bunch of people. Tonight was all admin work for meetings i have to chair this week plus i did the church roster for the next 3 months. I also have to write an MoU and a talk for the prison ministry which is due on March 5. And i walked for an hour tonight around Pyrmont which was lovely.

Weight has pretty much stayed the same this weekend. I will fast on Tuesday and Thurs i think this week. Its been so hot here this weekend…late 30s C. At least we have had a cool breeze in the evening. However its made me really tired.

High 5 to SJ and the levi’s. Well done. It must feel really good.
Fit – reclaiming your life is hard to do but you need to take your own needs into account. At some point your sister will be unable to be at home even with a carer so maybe its best if she gets settled in now. Its not an easy decision but you deserve a life as well. Very few decisions are ever final and this is worth a try. She may be happier.

I emailed my details re WTF and will wait to hear further details. Worst case i will come to the Marigold only.

Lots of posts in the last few days – Ive read them all but have no time to post replies as its getting late and i am wrecked. Need to have an hours down time b4 i sleep

Happy FD for tomorrow for those who are fasting. I am defrosting a veg curry i made in my first week to have for dinner on Tuesday.

    Ax

AA, you are one very busy lady and so generous with your time for others! πŸ‘ You really need to take some time for yourself too, so relax and unwind now. I hope you get to meet all the gang at the WTF and join in all the fun πŸ˜„πŸ‘

PH our posts crossed. Yes, sounds good! we’ll have a craft arve for all the dear little old ladies. Was wondering where I can pick up the bag flasks….. I believe they call it ‘the naggin’ in Fit’s land. (200mls of some spirit often stashed in the bra or handbag) I can see us sneaking a swig behind our hats. Excellent cover! So best I bring some after dinner liqueurs Not so strong as straight spirit, can’t have you all spluttering on the candy!

Thinking Irish cream, butterscotch schnapps, Turkish delight, Cointreau, Pinocolada, and there’s UP’s mulberry gin, straight bourbon, CG’s honey bourbon liqueur. Any other requests? I make very nice rum. All high grade medicinals. will only be able to bring small 300ml plastic bottles. but up to 5 litres is allowed. If no one drinks any of the above I’ll leave it out, but can add a few more, so say oi if I’ve covered your preference, or add it to the list. they will be travelling separately in a carry bag esky. Really must go and have a progress tasting. Nite girls. have agood fast day to those joining me tomorrow. xx gyps

All this talk of alcohol makes me jealous. I became allergic about 4 years ago. I think it stemmed from my sulphur allergy as many wines have sulphur. I used to just take a sip and wait 5 mins to see what would happen but lately i also become nauseous which is fair enough if you have been drinking heaps but not on one sip. Now it happens with spirits as well and some beer. I am a reluctant tea-totaller…it sux!

    Ax

Oh, poor you, Annie……that’s a bummer! Hey, gyps….you know those plastic lemons that you can buy lemon juice in……well, you could empty those and fill them with your potions and everyone could wear one in their Carmen Miranda hat! Problem solved! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ˜‰πŸ‘’πŸ‡πŸπŸ’πŸŠπŸ‹

PH-BRILLIANT IDEA…..PADDY’S MARKET WILL HAVE EVERY THING WE NEED TO CREATE SOME VERY INTERESTING GEAR.
FUNNY , LOTUS AND I HAD THE VERY SAME THOUGHTS WHEN WE TEXT TODAY. ITS GOING TO BE AN INCREDIABLE NIGHT.

FIT-GLAD YOUR DAUGHTERS ARE BOTH WITH YOU .GOOD ON YOU GOR MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION FOR YOUR SISTER’S CARE.

SJ-WE WILL CALL YOU THE SEXY ONE KNOW….SSJ…CONGRATULATIONS .YOU MUST FEEL FABULOUS.

ANNIE-SLOW DOWN AND HAVE ME TIMES….YOU WILL NEED ALL YOUR ENERGY FOR US ON THE WFT….ITS SO GREAT THAT YOU CAN JOIN US.

HAPPY FAST DAY TOMORROW…..GYPS WE ARE ALL WITH YOU.
SLEEP WELL ALL AND DREAMS OF WTF .IT WILL BE 4 WKS ON TUESDAY TILL IT HAPPENS…….GO GALXXXXXX

Ah, Fit, Yore evil. I like it!

Sob… Annie… so sorry! We could dose you up with Phenergan and carry an epi pen, one of us might have knees left to do resuss. I’ll direct proceedings….. Not to worry, love, You just come and have a good time.

    Nite GG. xx Gyps

Fit is your neck feeling better? What a creative mind you have, maybe the painkillers are helping! Lemons…one more reason to love them. Loving the chatter about the WTF, too. Annie you’re such a busy girl there’s no time for you to be tipsy – you may have the honor of keeping the wild ones out of jail πŸ˜€
Well done SeaHorse and others who are down (hard to keep track these days!). So pleased about all the crumbling plateaus. I’d better consult the scale tomorrow when my nursing shift is over. Wish there were 5:2 rehab centers for an in-patient stay. Wouldn’t mind a visit from Dr. M, he’s a cute one.

I’m giving a big cheer to all you nurses here, I’m ready to retire after two days. Virtual empathy is all I’ve had to give lately, but the actual work is rather demanding πŸ™‚ Had fun w/D though, as she got to feeling better, going through old memory boxes and giggling. I think she just needed a vacation from being an adult.
OOPS here it is Val Day without a heart or flower in the house – best run up to see what the grocery has. Then to swap my nurse’s cap for a chauffeur’s as I shuttle D home and take OH on errands. Happy FD Aussies! xxx

Hi there Jade, yes thanks, the pain has eased and no, I’m not delirious on pain meds! πŸ˜€ Glad to hear your D is on the mend and that you get to have some fun together. It’s funny how being ill turns them right back into kids again and all they want is mum’s nursing care. As for OH, well, you know why they came up with the term ‘man flu’!πŸ˜‰πŸ™„ Enjoy the rest of your day the best you can and remind your OH that he owes you a pampering! Have a great week and best of luck battling the scale demon πŸ‘Ώ

Oh that’s good news – and so glad you had a nice time with your girls. I missed a few posts, can’t remember whether the physio was more helpful when you went back. I remember an old coot of an ob-gyn who told me “it’s all in your head” one too many times. He clearly skipped class when they covered hormones.

HA, OH must have the man flu – I’m trying so hard not to be feisty. You’d think that would burn calories because it is an effort!! As is polishing my halo with such vigor πŸ˜€

Work those polishing muscles Jade……it does wonders for the body and the temper! I’m just home from the MRI scan which was painful because I had to hold still for so long. I will be back with the physio on Tuesday so should have more info then. At this stage, I must be boring everyone silly…I’m even boring myself now! I did get quite a boost from the radiographer who asked me, after doing all the preliminary checks, “Are you absolutely sure you couldn’t be pregnant?” I burst out laughing and said “did you not see my date of birth?” He said he didn’t take any notice but just thought I looked young enough. Woohoo! I’m 57!

Good morning/evening team….wow the hype going on here is fabulous. I might be better being the chaperone and the one behind the camera, someone has to be in control as well as keep the rest safe πŸ˜ƒ
Fit PREGNANT? What a compliment? And does that cause a neck pain? Golly things have changed. I do hope they show something and glad to hear your getting some relief. It would be interesting to know what you actually did and what caused it all.
Jade soldier on dear girl, it can’t last forever, although “man flu” does linger 😟 And they do make the most of it.
I had a rotten night with pain in the upper belly? I talked myself out of thinking heart, convinced myself it was indigestion so dosed up with Gaviscon, (three times) but didn’t get much relief. Did a mentle check list of foods from the day and came up with no real cause? I felt if my tummy could gurgle it would ease the discomfort, but was’t meant to be. So didn’t make the pool, not up to it today, Doctor at 11:20am, possible skin cancer to be cut off, so will have a chat to him. Something else to mark of the morning check list! Golly this getting old””’er offers problems at times. I’m hoping a “good” trip to the loo will ease it. Great subject for my morning post aye? Sorry team….. I don’t mean to take the gloss off the excitement ☺️
Good luck with your fast today team, they do get easier and Monday seems to be the easiest day of all for some reason so BRING IT ON πŸ˜€
A positive thought brings positive results, your mind controls your body, so think positive πŸ˜ƒπŸ’xxxxxxxxx

Finally lost the 2 kgs I put on helping out my son. He shifted towns to be with his girlfriend yet everything seemed to go wrong all the time. Since moving back and getting things right Things are finally falling into place for him. He is allowed a dog since last November but everytime one has come up they were taken quickly. Since we finished his house another puppy came up for sale and he managed to have a choice of three and loves the one that picked him. First thing in the morning he gets up and spends time with him. It is doing both of them good.

There is still not much movement round my stomach I am trying not to stress about that measurement but would like to be under 80 cm. Underbust measurement is lower than this. The weather here is starting to turn as there is dew on the ground when I get up and the nights are getting cooler.

Mornin’ CG, sorry to hear you had a bad night with tummy ache. I hope you get relief soon and that the doctor puts your mind at ease that it’s just indigestion or trapped wind. Lovely thought, isn’t it? Take care, dear friend and get some rest if you can xx

Morning, CG, sorry to hear of the tum issues — yep getting older is a like a magical mystery tour every day. The digestive system can really throw a wrench into things, I hope it subsides soon. Say, did the doc ask if YOU were pregnant? Fit, I’d sure take that as a compliment, wow! Last time I got a similar question it was “do you qualify for the senior discount?” (at least they asked!).

Man flu continues, but he has my sole attention now and is less crabby. Go figure! xxx

GL, that’s a great result and delighted to hear your son is so happy with his new four legged friend.

Ah, Jade…..if we could figure out the mystery of men and their foibles, we’d be millionaires! πŸ˜€

Hi Jade and Fit, I did a roast chicken last night, it had yummy crispy skin, so had that with dinner too, but with steamed veggies, but wondering since my gall bladder removal late last year, if that’s the problem. It’s all “passed” now if you get my drift, belly gurgling very loudly, but it’s the first time I’ve noticed any reaction to foods I eat. Of course you are warned to stay away from fatty foods, but with 5:2 they are few and far between…….who knows? Just one of those gastro things………but I usually eat the crackling off the pork etc with no ill effects, tail off the lamb chops, mmmmmm
GL how lovely for your Son, a new puppy, oh just love the thought of it πŸ˜ƒ And well done to you another 2K gone, big achievement!
Shower time, awfully late for me, it’s rained over night too, so there’s a bonus, off to the doctor soon so chat later.😌🌷xxxxxxxx

My son is a dog person. When my FIL passed away his old working dog suddenly would not stay where he had lived and adopted my son who was toddling at that stage. Spot was very gentle with him and they were inseperable. When we had to shift into town we managed to get the dogs adopted out as it is cruel taking them off farms. Since then I have not had any pets as I have had my handsful with the children. I like the luxury of being able to do what I want when I want without having to find people to look after them. Some people don’t return favours. Also I have Rottweillers next door so nothing would be safe as they are the type that charge fences. Nothing has been done by the shire about them. You need proof.

Hopefully that’s the answer, odd though it is, CG. Have a lazy day when you get back xx

CG sure hope that was it – the body can be moody that way. D had gall bladder removed and fatty foods are a potential problem, but sometimes she indulges and it’s OK.
GL, I love pet bonding stories, congrats to your son on this happy addition. Know what you mean about the obligation, it’s on our to-do list anytime we travel with all our furry clan.
Back to grading papers….sure wish students had learned grammar and punctuation before grad school – common complaint among writing teachers here. ::mean face emoji:: xxx

Hi all. Lots of interesting topics once again. I’m still chucking over Fit’s comment about not getting your Brazillains mixed up. A touch of barbers rash to go with the Carmen Miranda hats! Ouch. Now that would be some fascinator! Oh and the plastic lemon laced with bootleg hooch.
Yes well dogs again. When we lived in Victoria we had two Golden Retrievers. Our kids were childless newlyweds and none of our friends had small kids. Then some OS visitors arrived with their toddler. I was very apprehensive about the dogs but they were amazing. They immediately sussed out that she was a little person and were incredibly gentle with her. I’m quite reluctant to leave Pepper at the kennels when we go OS but there is no alternative.
Yet another FD here with my usual summer fare. HB eggs and fish for lunch and then fish again with salads for supper. I’ve not yet had anything to eat but am now ready for my lunch. A true break fast. That will be 15 hours since my last meal. I’m not sure if it really matters as it’s the restricted calories that are important. I just find I get less hungry later on in the day if I skip brekkie.
    XX Doggy πŸ©πŸ•πŸΎ

HI all. Yes Doggie we had a golden retriever too (with a newborn baby in the house) & he was very gentle always. When he died we replaced him with a nutty but very loveable cocker spaniel – they are such mad dogs, certainly not as intelligent as retrievers!
I’m trialling a glass of warm water with lemon juice this week to try and speed up the metabolism maybe??! Bit sick of this no losing. Also went back to my original plan of a HB egg for both brekky & lunch for FD. I was losing well then but it probably makes no difference really!
CG OH always has troubles with roast chicken & we’re pretty sure it’s the fat levels. He can get away with using one of those upright roasters where the chicken gets put onto some metal stands & the fat drains into a little tray underneath. The skin still does brown beautifully so no dramas there. Get them in kitchen shops. Might do the trick for you if it happens again – worth a try if it means you can still have your roast chicken. Also by putting water in the tray under the chicken it is really moist too. Hope it’s eased though.
GL we have no pets at the moment for the same reason & we travel a bit with family overseas. But I can’t wait to get another one really once we’re too old to travel!
Dear Fit sure hope those scans will reveal the problem & you can get started on treatment & also know for sure what you can/can’t do to stop stirring it up.
PH I agree with GG that it’s a fab idea to have a craft afternnon or similar making our fruity gear. I need some help in the creativity/dress-up department…it’s not really my thing. But if everyone was doing it count me in! And Fit love your suggestion of the plastic lemon thingys! Devious aren’t we all!!
Gyps I’m wondering how I’m going to survive the WTF!! I’m not a spirits girl usually more into wines so the results could be interesting!! I do enjoy them though when I have them. Luv irish cream though & the sound of the butterscotch schnapps.

Well better get moving on my house cleaning…the floors look rather ready for it. Oh we bought a Garmin watch for my birthday with steps/calories/distance on it plus it has a sleep analysis thing which I thought would be interesting. It does also have a watchface which many don’t so thought I’d use it more that way. Will get to test it out on Saturday! Will let you know how I go & maybe it will aid the weightloss by making me more active. Oh it also sounds an beep when you’re sitting for too long. I expect mine will be going off rather frequently at first!!!
Have a great FD all stick to your resolve & don’t let anything make you stray. Head for the water first if you think you’re hungry – often does the trick!! sj XXXX

Hi team, I’m not fasting today but will hope to catch up throught the week. Doctor had no real answers, bit of gastro, then we talked about every thing and anything , calves etc, as per usual after showing him the cancer which need to be cut out. He didn’t realsie I’d booked a double appt, and we ran out of time, talking 😏 So going back on Thursday. It’s lovely having that sort of rapport with your doctor, so it didn’t bother me. Tummy still unsettled so having a sandwhich as I type, just feel as if I need bulk. A nanny nap could be on the cards too, I only got a couple of hours sleep last night, so a quiet day ahead 🌷 Enjoy the day team xxxxxxx

Hi sj, I do actually use a rack but I also basted the chicken with pesto, which was so tasty and yummm, but the mix of hot herbs/spices and the chicken fat must have had the bad effect. I’m assuming that anyway, unless it’s a bug? Anyway, I’m awfully tired so it will be an easy day and I’ll take a rare 24hours off πŸ˜€Xxxxxxx

I also had golden retrievers – two gorgeous dogs whom I miss enormously. Lucy died at 13 in 2013 and Basil died just a month short of his 12th birthday in late 2014. In between that I lost my 19yo cat.
My dogs were so great with small children even though they had none of their own. Basil adored my youngest niece. There was 6 months between them. Once when she was 3 she put on his lead and took him outside and hosed him off as she thought he needed a bath. It was mid winter and cold and he did not like baths but when I went looking for them I found him standing stock still while being hosed by Gabby. He followed her everywhere. It was so cute. She decided she wanted to marry him at one point.
I’m pet-less right now so my house is empty. I’m still not over losing the pets I had but work has also changed and I don’t have time to break in a new dog right now.
    Have a good day
    Anne

Oh the sweet dog stories – we had a lovely shepherd who guarded our youngest from the moment we brought her home, his post was in her doorway whenever she was asleep, one ear up to listen for trouble. Dogs are such great pals.

Dawg thanks for the reminder of Fit’s “brazilian” quip, I howled at that one. You all will be howling too if you mix them up. Might need an extra hit of gyps’s potions or a wee bit o’ the lemon πŸ™‚

SJ just read your post about the beeping Garmin that nags you to get up and move. Can’t wait to hear more about that! What will they think of next.

Hi all, Just checking in, fast day going well so far. Am busy distilling today. (can breathe in the fumes in lieu of a wine). SJ, there’s no need for anyone to worry re getting plastered at the venue, (it’s optional!)Apparently we all have fridges in the rooms, so will be able to pick up some wine home supplies. Hopefully there’s a balcony/pool or somewhere to sit and watch the sunset. But I actually don’t much like bought alcohol (spirits), it has more toxins and definitely more synthetic additives than my stuff.Plus REALLY expensive over the bar. So I’ll be drinking wine out. Our venue isn’t a pub, or have a bar, does it? I figure we’ll all enjoy a few “room relaxation moments” and I like a nite cap, but not paying 70 bucks for a bottle of bourbon! Gark! But, providing I get it there without getting arrested, am not planning to transport any back (will have empty container for shopping!)so you all get to take home any left. I personally don’t often drink liqueurs, But had to perfect the art of making them for my grand daughters’ learning to drink days. Can make them very low alcohol but usual shop bought are 17 percentage alcohol for liqueurs. While a spirit is 37/40. (So mine are same) I keep my hand in now and make them for xmas pressies. Today’s batch is for our reunion. Smells like a brewery in my house!

CG, sorry you’re crook again. hope it’s just transient. envy you all your dogs, Will get another one day. Hi Annie, Jade, Fit, Gl, Dawg, gotta run, will check in later, xx gyps

Oh Gyps, do I get crook often enough to say again? This is just tummy bug, very bloated now, but it will pass…..as for the ” inkahol,” put some in Gawds case, surely she will make some room for you. I plan on bring mine home to savour with fond memouriesπŸ˜€πŸ’•mmmmm, xxxx

It is such fun reading all of the posts for the day. Hope you are feeling better CG . Sounds very much like the fatty skin did the damage. Lovely to have that sort of relationship with your doctor.
πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“ I had a terrible nights non sleep last night so nothing has changed it seems from my trial with the sleeping tablets. I’ll just have to continue with the other remedies and hope for the best I guess. So I slept in until 10.30. No pool for me today but have had a productive afternoon. I had booked phone calls with financial advisors in order to sort out my super. Need to start drawing some to top up the pension. So have now set up a meeting for after I come home with the super fund financial advisor to fill out all the forms etc. there is always something…however once this is all set up that should be the end of it till the money runs out.!! πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ

Gyps. I’m with you regarding buying over the counter drinks. Very expensive way to go. It is much better to all gather together on a balcony?? Or somewhere and supply our own nibbles and drinks before going out to dinner, when we should be able to buy by the glass or share a bottle of wine. Good idea about the flask though? oH used to have one somewhere..will have to find it. I will bring a bottle of scotch with me as it is my preferred drink with ice and water. But would love to taste your concoctions. 🍹🍸🍹🍸maybe a nice toddy or nightcap”. before bed to help with the sleeping?? Lots of options …lots of fun. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ I will have to go through my wardrobe next week and do some alterations before I go as well. Can’t imagine getting dressed into anything good though with all this heat. Should be a nice breeze on the harbour though and Sydney not as hot I’m guessing. Glad the gawdmother is getting back on track and looking forward to WTF..

UP & SJ. same same with the dog situation ..love the stories but we are at a time of our lives that it is much better to be free to travel without the need find somewhere for the pets to stay. Since losing Brandy recently we have decided to wait till we can’t travel anymore before we get another one. Love hearing about everyone else’s dogs though. Im Sure GG and Doggy could not imaging being without their special friends…

FIT. Hang in there girl…you are doing great…hopefully get to the bottom of this soon. πŸ’œπŸ’•πŸ’œπŸ’•πŸ’œ
Jade. Lovely story about your D and you giggling over old photos. Makes your heart sing…hope OH gets over his manflu soon . My OH went to his doctor and came home with another anti-depressant to try. This is the 7th in two years. With a bit of luck for him…and me ..this will be the magic pill. πŸ’ŠπŸ’ŠπŸ’Š. So. I have better though with D home to share the load. And he is loving having here here and tries so much to not let his lethargy and moods effect our time together. πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›

Annie…my oh my what a beautiful caring busy person you are. Doing so much for others and still having time to get all of your exercise in and eat well. Great stuff πŸ’πŸ’“πŸ’πŸƒπŸƒπŸŽπŸ‰πŸπŸ³πŸ‘πŸ‹. Bummer about the reaction to the vino…however I’m sure you still live life to the fullest without it. I find I cannot have much wine these days also without getting a headache..scotch with water is OK though. Lots of Ice, lots of Water and a little bit of scotch.
GL Well done getting back to where you were before helping your son. Way to go and love the dog stories. πŸ•πŸ©πŸΎ
Have had a good fast day today. Only an apple so far and now OH calling me to dinner, flathead and steamed veg with cauliflower and sweet potato mash and herbs…yummy. So should come in well under the 500 today. Monday’s seem so easy..I think it is because we are ready for the fasting after the weekend. Hope everyone else had a good fast day and good luck with your tomorrow CG..πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Bert and Barb.. Hope everything is OK with you both..hugs πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

CG. Hope you are well, sorry I missed you out. Great organising for wtf. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

    Hi all!
Loving all the dog stories too. We’ve always had at least one right through my childhood until today. It’s heart breaking when they fall ill or get so old that they need to be put to sleep but I still wouldn’t be without one. I have a very treasured photo of my dad with our first dog, my dad is sitting on the back doorstep and the dog is sitting beside him gazing adoringly into my dad’s face while he has his arm around the dog…..so cute!
CG, that’s great that you are able to have such good chats with your doc but don’t forget the reason you’re there! Hope all is well with you soon. Enjoy a rare lazy day xxπŸ˜ƒ
Jade, I’m glad I gave you a laugh….I’m sure the other ladies had their eyes watering at the thoughts of mixing up their Brazilians! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜³ I know what you mean about student standards of grammar and punctuation slipping, grrr! 😁
SJ, best of luck with the garmin….hope it doesn’t drive you mad!
My ipad is running out of juice so big hello to AA, gyps and PH…..catch up with you all later xxxx

Finished the day with just 435cals. Got to be happy with that. Hope everyone had a good day. Talk tomorrow. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Very late post……but….better late than none at all!
Have been ding some goggoling for the dinner cruise regarding our attire. KAMART has lots of tops in bright tops in yellow ,green black white also a range of bright colored bangles ,head scarfs. There are also bags of sherbets that are in coloured containers in the shape of fruits,or bags of lollie banana that cuold be used to decorate the head wear.Any brightly patterned skirt ( which I would think we all have in the closet) from our flower power days would be perfect , peasant tops too with oversized hooped earrings. The kids jewllery section had watermelon neclaces for $2 that could be put on the hoops. ARTIFICIAL FRUIT can be found in some $2 shops….though I am sure we will found other interesting bits at PADDY’S MARKET,ALSO try your local op shop they would possible have everything with the money going to a good cause……Good luck with your creative imaginations of which we all are awesome using.
My meetings begin tomorrow with Nursing job ,followed by my other job on Wednesday…then back to Nursing for wound pallative care and immunisation workshops over a few days into the following week. The organisers of these workshops have allocated times for 3 lots of 15 min walksπŸƒπŸ‘ŸπŸ˜Ž…So we will not be sitting on our behinds for hours at atime….the food is even healthy…..so pleased that the Health system is looking after it’s staff.πŸ‘πŸŽπŸŠπŸ…πŸ‰πŸ“πŸ£πŸ—

Catch you all between my non student hours.πŸ“šπŸ“’βœπŸ“…….take care…GO GALXXXXX

AA, hope you manage to have a dog in your life again soon, sounds like the ones you had before very well looked after and lived to a happy ripe old age.
PH, brilliant job on your fast day, woohoo! Sorry to hear you had a bad night again, maybe money worries were on your mind, I know that is one thing that keeps my OH awake. Hope your financial adviser can give you good advice and put your mind at rest. I’m sure Gyps will be able to administer some knockout drops when you’re on the WTF tour! 😴
Gyps, delighted to hear you’re taking your brewing duties so seriously…..obviously a little sampling has to happen for quality control but don’t overdo it!πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹
GG, you’re one very busy lady and still managing to do all this research as well, fantastic! It’s great that you have Lotus helping out with arrangements too. It will all be amazing! πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘β€οΈ

Thanks for being concerned FIT but not worried about money. Just getting it sorted after retirement, I have not yet set up my pension stream from my Super..just been using savings so far to top up pension it is now time to get sorted as I don’t want to use too much of my savings. Have left it this long so I could work out how much we are spending now that I am not working. In Australia our employer contributes to Super for us whilst we are employed and then when we retire we can either take it as a lump sum or draw out amounts when we like or put it into a Pension Stream which will pay us an amount of our choosing each fortnight. After more than 6 months I now know what to draw out of super each fortnight and just need to get everything in place. We are probably like most of us in that whilst not fabulously rich should be comfortable whilst spending our children’s inheritance ..πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸΉπŸŽ‰πŸΈβœˆοΈπŸ›©β›΅οΈβ›΄πŸšŒπŸš..so life is good.

Did have a good nights sleep last night and so all bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to enjoy today. It is my birthday and so after the pool this morning am planning to do a spot of shopping for fun things and then enjoy the rest of the day. oH and D planning a special dinner for me. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’πŸ’πŸΉπŸΉπŸ’πŸ’πŸΎπŸΎπŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽπŸŽπŸ’˜πŸ’˜.. Hugs to all and enjoy the day. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
    .

Happy birthday PH. I hope you have an awesome day πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’

Good morning/evening team, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PH, wishing you a fun fabulous day πŸ˜ƒ
Barb, nice to see you are still with us πŸ˜ƒ
Fit, how did you go with the care manager and sorting things out for your sister? Are you feeling any better yet, it’s been a very frustrating time for you πŸ’•Xx
I Slept like a baby and feel so much back to normal this morning πŸ˜‰ It’s rained again over night and the temp is very mild, good sleeping nights when it’s like this. I’m not stepping on the scales today out of fear, I really bulked up yesterday to ease the tummy pains, and it’s worked, just hoping for some movement to part with it all ☺️ But the pain has eased so I’m back to fireing on all sixes πŸ˜ƒ So might fast today too.
Have a lovely day team, GG you’re putting a lot of thought into the cruise, I bet you’re enjoying it all πŸ˜€ I have already planned on what I’m wearing, probably a bit sedate to your choosing but I’ll feel comfortable 😊 And enjoy the night just as muchπŸ˜€

Hi all. Fasting today instead of yesterday.

PH, it wasn’t me talking about dogs but having said that, with all the travel I do, my dog is an issue but I knew that before I got him. I always make sure he is well cared for in my absence but it is a headache sorting it out!

I am spending 6 weeks around Queensland in April, May and so want to take him but with national parks etc it can’t really be done.

He has been such an enhancement to my life however, that I don’t regret it for a minute. πŸ™‚

GG, I have to think about the outfit. Some of us have to travel in public! πŸ˜‰

Hi team, totally agree Up, I really don’t think a family/home is complete without a pet, even a budgie! And it’s rarely a decision one would ever regret.
I am in a dilema at the moment, Saturday morning I was 72.8k, ate normally and a couple of bourbons to boot, plus the Sunday roast, skin and all, including a couple of bourbons πŸ˜‰yesterday 6 slices of bread as sandwhiches (spread out over the day) to try to ease my tummy pains (I believe in feed rather than starve a tummy pain) and out of curiosity weighed just before my shower to see what possible damage I did, 71.8k, can’t believe it!!! I’m still losing πŸ˜ƒ
Stay positive team, and it will happen πŸ’žXxxxxxxx

Happy birthday PH, πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ’πŸΎπŸΈπŸŽ‚ Enjoy the shopping and whatever treats come your way πŸ‘œπŸ’„πŸ’πŸ‘ πŸ’ƒπŸ’…
Barb, good to hear from you, how are you doing?
UP, that will be a lovely trip….enjoy it allπŸ˜€
CG, so happy for you that you had such a good sleep and are feeling better, not to mention another great loss! Woohoo! πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘
We met with a substitute carer for our sister today, she seems nice enough but I think she’ll just do the bare minimum. She couldn’t get out of the place quick enough. Also she doesn’t work weekends and my other sister is going away for this weekend so it’s going to be hard. My scan shows degenerative damage to three vertebrae in my neck where it meets the spine. I will have more info from the physio on Thursday, the appointment was postponed from Tuesday to allow time for the report on the scan to come through. Fingers crossed I don’t have to have surgery.

Forgot to say I’ve just come back from seeing the Revenant….very powerful film, but don’t go if you’re at all squeamish!

Oh Fit, how painful. Unfortunately it all comes with age and it seems to happen all at once. I do hope you can get week end care, from an agency or where ever, you need to look after number one now, your health is just so important, time to slow down dear one and smell the roses, give someone else the reins……thinking of you πŸ’žπŸ˜‰xxxxxx
